Finally purchased new tires...
I got a set of Yokohama ES100: 225x45x17
They look great and seem to be much stickier than my bald stockers!! Got them for $500 installed incl. tax - is that a fair deal?
Thanks for the board for suggesting these!!

About time man! Those stock ones were scary bald... especially with the extra power. Your car is faster already. By the way, I ordered a Comptech B-pipe, should have it on next weekend. 2.5" will be much better than the stock 2-1/8" pipe down there now. Have you ordered a boost controller yet ?

Cool man! Now you got your self set for the next month or two before you need new tires.
I heard about you getting a boost controller. Be careful with those things. They should call them BM Controllers instead for Blown Motor Controllers.

No...no boost controller yet, waiting for the A/F to come back from Australia. Plus, I need to hook up the extra injector first (which I have not purchased yet). I am still suffering from jet lag, so give me some time!

Yeah, I really like the Kelly Springfield SUV tires on the CLS. Give me a 800 tire wear rating with an 50,000 mile wear warranty!
It's nice to have ice-rink handling in sunny weather!
That’s the one:
I especially like it with the lifter springs – gives that complete SUV look!

BTW, why didn't you go with 234/45/17. The 225's are smaller than the OEM tires and you certainly didn't need the extra gearing.

all_motor....how many miles did you get on the stockies before changing to these?
also, how do they feel?
are you putting the yoko's on the stock '03 rims?
my tires are shot at about 26,900 miles and it's about time for something new.

Those were sepcially made for me and constructed out of molyplytomium. And the 1mm less in width is ideal for cornering by limiting the quaddratic slip angle.

How do these tires hold up noisewise? I know performance tires are noisey but the ones I have are out of control. I like Yokos but haven't heard much real world experience from these.
