Finally got camber kit!

My car's safety check was about to expire so I removed my illegal tint and tried to get a safety check. it didn't pass. I needed a reconstuction permit for my wheels and springs. I had to go back to the shop that installed everything and get a notarized list of the mods they made. Then I had to get a wheel alignment to show that my car is back to factory specs. They told me I needed a camber kit. they sourced one and installed it that day, but the re-con stationed was closed by then. and it was a friday. I have heard bad things about our re-con station here in hawaii but those guys were pretty cool. Anyway it passed, i got the sticker, and then I got my safety! but my ride does feel better. it stays planted better over bumps mid turn. I can take turns much faster with more confidence. The alignment and camber kit plus install, cost me a little over $400. I could've bought an ice box. but it was worth it!

the moral:
Buy a camber kit and get an alignment!

Do all states need a safety check? if you mod anything here, it needs to have a recon. And if they don't think its safe, it not going to pass. You know those aluminum rear wings? a lot of people bought them but they are not DOT certified so they don't pass. you can get a ticket if the cop feels like it. So now you see a lot of hondas with the alum. mounts and no wing looks retarded. You must also carry your paper work, and if the cop checks, and a mod is not on your list, you can also get a ticket and they revoke you re-con permit. Sucks huh.

How far off was your camber/alignment specs? It seems like very few (if any) people need camber kits with only Comptech springs.

Let me see if I've got this straight. If a cop pulls u over for a wing on ur car he will issue u a ticket if u do not have the proper paperwork?

What if u have a custom car that from the factory comes hopped up; ex. Viper Hennisey.

And what is the problem with a wing that bureaucratic butt pirates bitch about?

Well I guess u can't have ur cake and eat it too. A sweet location, waves, view, and a hopped up car.
