So Ern, from M3's to E's to A6's what the hell have you decided to do?

Well buddies, I have decided on ordering an 03' MDX with the touring package and navigation.

OMG! WTF! what about the CLK! what about the E! what about being a pimp in some really hot wheels!

I could go out and buy a 60K car, hell I had one on order at one point you all know that BUT..... it's not wise, not right now. I want to own my own business and be financially independant from working for someone else. You don't decide to go 'SOLO' and buy 60K cars unless your rich, and I'm not. So.. in short if I want to continue to work for someone the rest of my life I should go for the 60K car. If I want to one day own 3 60K cars and a big house I should hold onto my money now and make a successful business, I'll go for plan B.

A truck? WTF! How did you go to a truck? and why Acura again?

I used to own a truck, a Chevy S-10 Blazer Tahoe Edition with a 5.7 liter V8 mashed into it. I love trucks and before I got bit by the 'euro' bug I was considering a truck if some of you remember. The MDX is gorgeous and kinda like the CL of SUV's with alot of very nice features (260HP engine, color rear backup camera, the new navigation with voice recognition, + all the bells and whistles the CL-S has) and I like it.

I hope your getting a deal on that truck if your staying with Acura

I am getting a great deal from Honda Finance ($1500 towards damage and over-mileage on the MDX and no money down for leasing another Acura) and Park Ave sales offered me a very competitive price so I'm going with it. I am happy to give Park Avenue Acura my money after nothing less than stellar service from them and I look forward to the confidence staying with their products (as long as PAA is repairing it). Gonna take the girl over for a test drive and leave a deposit (expect the MDX in January at this point due to high demand).

Ok, lastly what color and what are you going to do to it?

Color: either NightHawk Black or this new blue color they have. I want the tan interior since I have the black in the CLS I want a change.

Options:

Probably put on aftermarket running boards and the wheel well trim.

Definitely the burlwood steering wheel and shift knob.

Acura offers a DVD entertainment system but I don't like it so maybe I'll have Ron from Streeteffectz do something pretty

Congrats eclipse!!!!! you will LOVE the car. I think in the end it worked out for you! With everything you are trying to do i think you made the best move.

 

Congrats on your decision, dude. I know u were PISSED about BMW's dealership runaround, thus another good reason to stay with Acura.

sounds cool, this is definately a wiser and much more sensible option. i bet the insurance will be much more reasonable for you as well, an MDX should be less to insure than a CL and i remember you saying you had some UNGODDLY insurance payment, so hopefully this will help.

 

Wow... After all the posts, I would NEVER have thought you'd end up in a MDX.

Regardless, it's a great choice. You'll have to let me know how you like it. My Dad is possibly in the SUV market, and I think he should really take a hard look at the MDX.

My dad owns a SS 2002 MDX (touring pkge) and everytime I go home I insist on driving it. I'm sure after your test drive you'll agree that the car rides very much like a normal Acura sedan. The build is excellent and so far there are no complaints from my dad (he's Taiwanese...they like to yell for no reason)

So you're looking at 2003 I hope. That new Navi is going to be bad ass. IMO the Midnight blue pearl is the best color for this year. Too bad they don't make the Granite Green anymore...that was my favorite color by far.

damn...I just checked Acura's site...$1500 for the DVD entertainment package??? I'm sure Streeteffectz can beat that...

 

i'll bet next month the "real" final car update will b revealed...Dodge Caravan maybe???

Definetly a smart decision as far as career goes. And hell, MDX is not in any way a buttom of the barrell choice, its just in comparison to m3 and E, it might be considered less of a vehicle.

Sounds like your making the right choice with everything you got going on. Your definately right about the demand factor, people are buying up those MDX's.
