I would appreciate any information regarding the "break in" period. Like, how many miles do you recommend, how many rpms should I keep it under... stuff like that.
Also, do you guys keep the front license plates on? Cause my new CL had the whole frame and the dealers ad on it, but my friend said it would look better if I take the front lisence plate frame off entirely. Has anyone done this>? Is it screwed on or what? Thanks in advance for any info.

Just from our own experiences, it appears everyone recommends varying the RPM so there is no constant speed for the first 600-800 miles. After that use your discretion. Best to just drive normal and do not use cruise control, no matter how tempting it would be.

Front license plate is a requirement in CA but when I lived there, I never had one on. It depends on the dealer. Some screwed the bracket into the front of the bumper leaving 2 holes and others attached it from underneath. I live in NJ now and it's a requirement and the tickets for not complying are not cheap. So for now, mine is on. Happy Motoring and welcome to the board.

gto is pretty much right on with the break in period question...and as far as the license plate question, I have no idea about CA, but here in TX it is law, but I don't have mine on

take the stupid from plate off, it looks so much better. I got my car from Keyes in Van Nuys and they do not screw the plate frame into the bumper, it is generally attached from the bottom.
I have 11,000 miles on my car and have not been pulled over by the police.

About that front plate:

In West Hollywood, West Los Angeles, and Beverly Hills, the police have been pulling over "everyone" with out a front plate.

They installed photo radar and it takes a picture of the driver and front plate. My brother in law was pulled over for no front plate (the dealer was a real jerk, and didn't get him the front bracket). The policeman said that they were really cracking down on not having a front plate.

If you are in another part of town, I can't tell you what to do, but try to stay out of the areas mentioned, if you don't have a front plate on.

(an $0.02 production)

I have gotten a ticket in L.A. for not not having a front plate a few years ago. It was a fix-it ticket with no fee, just go to the marshals to show them it was on and that was the end of it. Don't know if that has changed. I just got my cl-s saturday at keyes in van nuys. Until I get my plates in the mail screw those photo radar systems at stop lights, they cant trace me. HAHA
