Fender-Bender ask for a loaner?
My car was in a little fender bender while it was parked. THe other guy left a card like a perfect sweetheart and agreed to pay everything out of his own pocket...doesn't wanna go thru insurance. The cost is something around $600. Now the shop says its gonna take them 5 days to repair, should I ask him extra for a rental car I'll probably have to get? or is it asking too much when the guy is being so nice and understanding??
just wanted a second opinion from you guys

the guy has 2 choices...
1) pay for damage AND rental
or
2) you go through insurance and get a loaner anyway.
considering he doesn't want to go route #2, he doesn't have much of a choice.

I guess, I NEED an alternative means of transportation. Should I just get the cheapest car then? usually insurance companies pay for an "equivalant" car.

Don’t STIFF him for a Lincoln Town Car rental.
Get a Ford Focus or Neon for a week and it should only cost him an extra 200 or so.
Or see if the body shop fixing the car can offer a discount rate since you’re having the work done there.

and be careful about it...he may not want to go through insurance because he has NO insurance.
when i got into a motorcycle accident, same thing...guy didn't want to go through insurance. (he had an ins. card and everything to show the cops though).
but when the estimate came through (over $3k), i called his insurance and he was cancelled over 6 months prior.
