Okay practically every time I go somewhere I try to figure this one out but just can't! How do you add different icons to the map !? You know like the gas station ones, Mexican restaurant, etc... I know how to get to the icons under SETUP to turn the current ones on and off but where can you select different ones!?

Second... the scale on the map, is it 2 miles across the entire screen... 2 miles from the center Acura icon to the edge... or the length of the scale bar itself? Sure I could look in the manual but I just moved and it's out in the garage... er file cabinet... in the garage, I think... hmmmm

You can't add anything.
The scale stuff is NOT in the manual.
You have to figure it out for yourself thru experience. For your second question, the answer is no, no, and no. Which to me means it is only an approximate and not intended to represent true distance.

But as always I could be wrong about this entire thing. What version of the Navi DVD software do you have?

Really? Can't add anything but different types of restaurants or gas stations? I wanted to put Rest Stops on there... Oh well. I think you are right about the scale being relative... really doesn't make sense anyway, it should just say 'Zoom Level 2, or 3' or something. I still have the original Navi DVD from when I picked the car up in June 2002...

If I remember correctly, you do have the option of adding/deleting gas station and restaurant icons.

I took a stab at it cause no one else was answering him.

I usually don't go into all the detail...so I interpreted his message as saying he wanted to add things that weren't on the map or in the database.

If there are 5 different icons available, I'm sure you can turn them all on or all off or any combination. But I'm pretty sure you can't turn on the rest stops or the burger kings or the high schools or the beaches....other POIs. (like you can with most PC software). And I'm almost positive you can't add your own new gas stations and restuarants.

Have to say this for Tom: but I could be wrong.
