fawk! plates in the street!!!
fawk! plates in the street!!!
So I was on my way to my friend's firestone dealer to meet up for dinner...
And I was driving along and there were some construction plates in the road which looked like I was about to drive over the rocky mountains. I was going around 40 mph... I figured I could swerve around them but shoot... there is an unpainted island.
I hit the curb with my front bumper and the car goes flying upwards and lands on the edge of the rim.
Thus producing this sorry site.
Not only did I bend my rim... I tore a piece of the S-03s. Luckily the replacement of the S-03 is covered under the Firestone road hazard.
And... I pushed my fender up and created gap between the door and the fender...
The cost will be:
$50 for the tire
$120 to fix the rim (if they can) otherwise a new rim $399
$180 to repair the fender at the autoshop...
Stinks...
I thought contruction crews were supposed to leave the roads in a driveable condition. Meaning that there would be asphalt lining the sides of the plates so that there would be no lip on the plates.
oh well

checked the suspension... I did not blow the front koni.
But my alignment is out of wack... I was going to take it back anyways to fix that... all in all a bad day yesterday...

Sorry to hear about it Jeff. I hate contruction on the roads, the roads are always screw up. Hope that they can fix the rim. When did you get them? They must be new.

When I sold you the brake lines, I had these on.

sorry to hear about your rim, but there have been plates nearby my house also and they are a pain in the ass. everytime you go over them your car flies and rocks start hitting your car. they finally repaired it yesterday though.
