Faulty Auto-climate controls

I took my car to the dealership today, David McDavid Acura in Austin. My climate control won't come out of Auto mode. I once noticed the AC indicator came on and the only way I could turn it off was to turn the engine off. The left knob that adjusts temp fluctuates to a 20deg reading when set at 65degrees. I can push the knob side to side to get the error reading everytime. They are ordering a new part and will replace it under warranty. Anyone else have this problem?

not supposed to do that..I think you need to have the dealer fix it. BTW, David McDavid service SUCKS! I lived in austin for a couple of years while attending UT...I had an Integra GSR at the time...absolutely the WORST Acura dealership (service dept) I've ever been to.

Haven't heard of that one before... I'm sure they'll take care of it.

I will have to say that the attitude at David McDavid was decidedly different than I had ever experienced there when I had some work done this week. They were professional and super cool. I even felt the need to call the manager afterwards and tell him I was quite impressed with the changes they made. I dealt with a woman named Chris Sims.

Hopefully you will have the same experience.

By the way, where did you get your headers installed?

Back in Sept. the thermostat of my A/C refused to work. It stayed cold all the time. After a few weeks, it healed itself!! As for the 20 degrees when I switch to 65 or 64, I have a similar expericence. I think some time back someone brought this issue up also. I think the thermostat is tell us it's 20 degrees centigrade

This is covered in the FAQ.

http://www.geocities.com/~gamesmgr/chod/acura/#Dash2

Mine had this problem. Wayne from PAA also posted this in an eariler thread -

We have seen this before- it is the control head in the dash. The repair is to replace the control head. Tell your dealer to reference service news information 010603 on the Interactive Network for the info.
