fast track time

Hows it goin guys. I decided to go the track the other day to see what I could run. It was a friday night and it was about 60 degrees. I went to the Orlando Speedworld track in Orlando, Florida. I ran twice that night. Both times i was around 14.6. Here is my slip:

60' 2.233
330' 6.253
1/8 9.478
mph 76.40
1000' 12.271
1/4 14.627
mph 96.07

I have a 2003 Cl type-s with an auto. I am completely stock. I haven't been on the forum in a while and I was wondering if anyone with a stock cls has gotten any times these good?

Nice ass runs for a bone stock auto...Not many have been able to get a 14.6 stock!

Damn 14.6 for a bone stock auto?

Looks like you got one from the "fast" batch. I'd love to know what you'd run with I/H/P.

Damn, thats good, especially for Orlando Speedworld, that track isn't that great.

The best i could muster was a 15.0 with intake and a 2.3 60ft time, in the dead of summer though........what was our temp that night you went?

uumm no...that is actually not average for a BS TLS/CLS. As a matter of fact avg header and icebox/intake times are 14.3-14.7 with the occasional 14.1 or 14.2. These are automatics I am referring to. 96mph is also high for a bone stock auto. Most have the avg stock auto TLS/CLS in the 92-94 mph so black CLS made a good point.

and what specs are you basing your conclusions on? the average cls driver here on the forum? if so, sure..but that doesn't mean thats what a cls' full capacities are!

Yes I am. What are you basing your conclusions on? What magazines write??? We have good drivers here and bad ones....thats why I feel we can safely call it an average. I agree that the capabilities are there to do better but the way the car is setup I think on average it will not perform at 14.6 @ 96mph. We were talking about average right?

Sounds like Honda received the J32A4 motors early and gave the last few CLs a going away gift.

i've actually never looked up the times for the cl from any magazines, but if you have guys runnin anywhere from 14.4-14.8ish, wouldn't that make 14.6 about the ave time? drive it right and you'll find out

Who said anything about 14.4-14.8 being the avg times for stock CLS/TLS??? Where did you get that range from if you have looked them up? Are these your times? if so how many times have you run 14.7 or better stock?

you need at least intake and headers to make an auto cl-s run 14.4's. you also need the proper weather conditions.

I live in orlando and believe me, "perfect weather conditions" would not be found here........how hard can it be to drive a Cl-s right. Put it in D1 get a good launch and shift through two more gears...........waaay tooo easy

Qrt Times

14.6 for a stock CLS is as good as it gets--you have to launch and shift perfectly. Headers and intake will take 1/2 second off your time assuming you don't do anything to slow the car down like putting 18/19 inch wheels on the car.

Great Run!

i was actually basing these times from the people on this forum for your info ...and no i don't come here to brag about my times and wins, so i don't post times and wins
why, are you having troubles running 14.6

Sorry for my saying so, but im not too sure about all of you boys that are saying that 14.6 is an average time for an auto cls that is stock. I have never seen anyone else getting times that good with a stock auto. I saw a guy at the track with i/h/e run and his times were worse than mine. So i dont know where so people are getting their figures. People run that with the 6speed, so maybe thats what was confusing some of you.
