Cleaning a Cone filter...i dont have a kit and i know i should buy one but right now i'm in an unknown place to me and i just drove thru nasty **** and my cone is pitch dark...so, would warm water and soap work? Can i spray the insides with a hose like i do to clean my house's air filters?
i need fast...i'm driving tomorow and i dont want my engine sucking up south florida mud & mosquito

As a temporary fix, you can clean it with a mild soap and water solution. But, if you can't re-oil the filter - don't bother. You'll do more harm than good. Get the cleaning kit ASAP!
