As far as guages for the S/C....

Are they really necessary? Other than the :captainobvious: way to monitor the system, how necessary are they?

I'm still up in the air into whether spending $4-500 on electric full sweep guages are necessary....

You past and present S/C guys, help me out....

i would say get them, yes they are for monitoring the car and you probably wont really need them, but if you feel sluggish performance then at least you will know if FP and boost is still right. i would say it would serve a safety net, so that at least you know if something goes wrong.
finally, you can get a mech. boost gauge which would save you over 100 bucks.
if you ever plan to get the car tuned, it would be a very good idea to have the gauges around.

I have a mechanical boost gauge and an electric fuel gauge. You don't ABSOLUTELY need them but, as power3dfx just said, if you feel a decrease in performance you can automatically rule out FP and boost as a problem. There's also that "I'm boosted" cool feeling you get sitting at the traffic light. Not very sleeperish, but cool nontheless.

You had better know what your FP is doing! It's the engine management system for this blower kit. And as far as elec or mech FP gauge goes, you do NOT want fuel lines in the cabin!

The mech boost will tell you if your belt is slipping, and sooner or later it will happen.

Like everyone has already stated, at the very least get an electric Fuel Pressure gauge. Always a good thing to monitor how much fuel you're getting while boosted.

Go with the electric FP gauge and a mechanical Boost gauge like Seattle CL-S did. You'll save some dough by going with the mechanical gauge and it will be the best overall setup for what you're gonna be running.

Other then that an Air/Fuel gauge would be a good choice too. Best bet however is to go with the above setup. That’s what i'm using as well and i couldn't be happier.

EDIT- Just read the other thread. Family comes first. This stuff isn't going anywhere thats for sure.
