That sucks! I wonder if the person with that Lambo bought another one with the insurance money...? It makes me feel sick just seeing the pictures of it all beat to crap!

Wow, that's a pretty crazy story there. I'm guessing it's being totaled by the insurance company? That one pic looks like a biology disection lab.

Well what was running thru my mind is there's alot of people who excessively speed thru my street, b/c it connects two major streets. And I wanted to get the guy's license plate number and call the cops to report the drunk driver. Not so much b/c he ran over my neighnbor's mailbox, but b/c people like that shouldn't be on the road. And I wanted his ass to be busted and goto jail for drunk driving and driving wrecklessly.

As for what I will buy next, I'm not sure. I'm kinda weary of Acuras and their transmission problems, rotor warping problems, paint chip problems and their overall crappy post sale customer service.

I might just try to see if I can buy that lambo and fix her up.

Wow. What a chain of events. Glad to hear you are not injured. I can't believe the jerk in the Civic drove pass. What a prick.

Oh, and I'm no collision expert but, that black CL did not hit a wall doing 85. No way.

That sucks. I think initially I would have probably reacted the same as you did, but I would have stopped before I got into my car and chased after him. So, I would say what you did was stupid, but understandable. With that said, thankfully, no one was seriously hurt.

IMO, your car doesn't look too bad in that pic, but you're better off getting the cash from the insurance company and starting new. I lost a lot off my car when I was rear-ended.

Good luck with the new ride.

If I hadn't of wrecked my CL, yall would probably be appluading me for getting the license plate number of that driver. In hindsight, it's easy for you to say it was stupid, and I understand and would agree that it could of been handled better.

However, what you dont understand is that I had alot of shit happen to my car where I live. It got broken into, had both front and passenger airbags stolen at one point. People speed thru my street even though there are children playing. Two of my cats even got run over at different times in front of my house. I even had some random fucker throw a beer bottle at my door and leave a dent the size of a quarter one eveneing.

So you see, I have low tolerance when shit like this happens in front of my house. If it was up to me, I would shoot all the people that speed excessively thru my neighborhood. But since I can't, I figure the next best thing is to catch the perpetrator and report him.

Yall can give me shit about running the stop sign. I admit that was stupid. But chasing someone down who was driving drunk and could possibly injure or kill someone on the road, to report him to the cops, IMO isn't irrational.

Hell I would do it all again, If I could. The only thing I would do different would be that I would crash my car into that dumb civic. At least that way my CL would have died with honor like those kamikazi's in WWII.

No worries. I wasn't saying you were a dumbass or something like that. You're probably right we would have said "good job" if you caught up to him.

Shit happens. I hope you don't have to make that choice again.

They wouldn't even readjust the amount even after I faxed them my receipts for my after market alarm and tint job. Not to mention the wheels and tires.

The only things I was able to recover was my type S shifter knob, the all weather floor mats, the Honda gas cap, Red optima battery, one air horn and my Valentine One which I just bought and used on one road trip to Laredo for that wedding. I put everything on my fiancee's 1996 TL so that the spirit lives on.

Wow...if your neighborhood has that many vandalism issues, I'd say fixing up the Lambo is OUT OF THE QUESTION! It'd be a travesty to have car that nice in such a lousy area. Also, I'm sure it's more than you think to fix it up. The parts are outrageously expensive...the airbag alone would KILL your budget!

I agree. Altho I did enjoy flirting with the idea initially, in the end I came to the same conclusion as you did. An old shit box V8 with metal bumpers, a roll cage (like the cars in the movie Mad Max) with only liability insurance is more like it.

Ok, if I did take your advice and just minded my own business. And later I turn on the news and find out that the Civic also later ran over a pedestrian and killed him/her. I don't think I could sleep easily at night knowing I coulda/woulda/shoulda done something about it. He'll I wouldn't have even known the make or model of the car, to tell the police, if I hadn't pursued his ass. You call my actions stupid all you want, it's not gonna change the fact that I would do it all over again, except this time in a Hummer H1.

As a rebuttal to your kamikaze remark, they sacrificed their own lives while fighting on behalf of their own country, as any Patriotic person of any noble nation would do. So yes they did die with honor.

Yes and I admitted to that in post #18 of this thread. God damn, and I thought the service reps at the Acura dealerships were snobby and condescending. I mean you all are starting to sound as if you're the Dahli Lama of driving. Fuck people make mistakes and bad judgement all the time when it comes to driving. That's why everyone's insurance is so high. At least I was proactive in keeping my car in excellent mechanical shape so that it was always running safe, and changed my own oil on a regular basis, which is more than I can say for a majority of you pricks.

Damn, now I'm glad I wrecked my CL. I guess that automatically revokes my membership to this forum. Oh by the way, I know what the A on the Acura stands for, Assholes alike. And the Type S stands for Snobs.

Damn dude, calm down. Everyone has an opinion. It happens.

And IMO, the insurance company gave you a pretty good deal considering it was a 2002. You got just shy of $16K.

Oh wow...thanks for tossing out a personal insult. I was just pointing out that the part that you were getting criticized for (chasing the civic) wasn't what caused the wreck. That was not very nice.

what they (the Japanese) did to other people during WWII was not in the least bit honorable. They were hell bent on conquest and thankfull we kicked their rear ends back to where they belonged

Here are some examples

The Nanjing Massacre
In December 1937, the Japanese army invaded Nanking, China. In the following six weeks, Japanese soldiers killed more than 300,000 civilians and prisoners of war

I am quite sure if you search, you will find countless examples of what they did

As for your little asshole remarks generalizing Acura owners... Guess what? This proves you are at least twice the asshole any of us are and you don't deserve the car anyway.

Ok Lord Helmet, I see I'm getting called out by the whole damn forum now. Everybody here thinks they're my mother now. I guess that Acura Assholes analogy was a bit of a harsh. But then again it was more directed towards the snobs that were stepping on my neck for my mishaps. I mean you were'nt even in this thread, I had no quarrels with you.

As for my car getting owned????
Shit, the way I see it is my CL held up very well considering the beating it got. My engine was still purring after the accident. All electrical was still functioning.

If anyone got owned here, it was that piece of junk Camry who broadsided me. I neglected to take a picture of it, b/c it's not accessible to me. But the front end was all banged up. His car wouldnt even start. The guy was limping after he got out of his car. Me and my passenger came out without a scratch. Acura may have fucked up on the transmission, but they did a hell of a job making the CL structurally solid. And the dude who hit me didn't even have insurance, so he owned himself.

It's public forum and I am now. I don't have any quarrels with you either but you need to relax. Calling all Acura owners assholes and snobs is a very childish way to handle this and personally, I don't think you should even be allowed here after a comment like that. You realize this is an Acura website right? I think you owe every Acura owner here an apology for that comment but thats just my . Honestly, after reading how you reacted to the yard/mailbox incident, I knew you would fly off the handle in here. It was just a matter of time.

Again, I don't have any issues with you either but you need to chill. You can't expect to post a stupid mistake you made on the internet and not have people call you out on it. Relax man, Acurazine has 89,631 opinions as of right now.

No I am not apoligizing for my statement, b/c it was not directed at every Acura CL owner on this forum. Please don't insult my intelligence. My comment was a direct insult/reply to SHE-L-S's comments. I realize there's thousands of CL owners who realize that mistakes happen. It doesn't always mean people are stupid or make stupid decisions. They could very easily have just not been paying attention or too focused on something at the moment, and made an error in judgement.

But no, everybody who replied, was hell bent on calling my actions stupid. And half of them didn't even carefully read the whole thread before making their posts.

Weather you think I should be allowed in this forum is not your decision, but that of the moderators. And I haven't done anything wrong. And honestly it doesnt make a difference b/c now that I don't own a CL, I probably wont have anything to post from now on.

So you can keep your two cents and put it in your next mod fund.
