exterior mods idea... whaddaya think???

I was thinking of taking all the chrome on the car... (exhuast tips, window trim around door, emblems, letters and custome grille) and making them black chrome...

i've seen someone here make the chrome window trim flat black... ive also seen the black chrome emblem... dont think ive seen the exhuast tips....

i think it would look hot just black and silver... no chrome (my windows are practically black too!!!)

also does the trim around the window come off easily??

there is someone on this site that used
high quality tape.

i think the chrome stipping is very delicate.

I wouldn't do it yourself. The metallic trim around the windows is a bitch to paint. Let me clarify, it's easy to paint, it's a bitch to get it to bond and not chip off.

If I were you, I'd take it to a professional and let them do it. I'd sand the pieces down to get a good surface for the paint to bond before doing any painting.

the chrome trim is plastic - not going to handle the heat - I have done my window trim with the black-out tape - now I just need to figure out how to post a pic and I will show you - looks decent - if it chips it is easily repaired - not as slick as paint, but much easier to deal with and maintain

if you paint it you need a self etching primer so it adhears to the metal. and grind with 180 then 400 then primer, wet sand with 600, prep solve, tack off, paint, tack, repeat 2x, then tack and clear.
