ext warr question

I have a 02' CLS w/ 45k on it. My car is included in the 01' extenssion to 7y/100k for the tranny.

Question: considering that the tranny is covered for free, should I still shell out $1,500 for an ext. warr?

I have had a few items repaired under warranty already
1) leaking headlight (replaced.... i think it costs like $211 + labor)
2) headlight inverter (just the part is over $300)
3) back of my seat fell off

What should be my other expectations (besides tranny)?

Well, other stuff could go wrong, the car minus the tranny is pretty solid (and you may never have tranny problems).

Bottom line is going to be... do you want piece of mind for the rest of the car... and is that piece of mind worth $1500 to you?

I paid $1150 for mine at 50k miles.

It's not hard to rackup $1000 of repairs. Especially if you include car rental.

IMHO ... I wouldn't do it. Other than the frickin' tranny, the car is pretty solid. Repairing a headlight for ~ $225 bucks is a lot cheaper than $1,500. Of course, as has already been said, a warranty is peace of mind ... if you decide to do it, shop around. Good luck.
