Exhaust time! what to get.
Yeah, I searched without satisfactory results.
I need to get exhasut, i can barely hear my RPMS to shift. ANd the radio is never on, its bad enougn as it is.
I know I used to have HKS Super Dragers on my car and liked them.
I heard Magnaflow cistom cans, but I am not too crazy about the sound.
Comptechs are not to my liking either.
I heard Tanabe sounds really nice and mature, but havn't seen or heard them on anybodies cars.
I also was wondering about Borla, or Flowmaster, or even some other domestic type of Exhasut companies.
What other exhasut are there? I'm open to universal mufflers if i can hear them first, but i think I would liek anaxle back better.
We seriosuly need a thread that has a compliation of all the existing sound clips...
Finally, do these fit from an accord?

I'm talking about 1500-3000 rpm, not vtec raange. I want to be able to feel the right time to let the clutch up. I can hear it now, but I have to listend hard for it and turn off the radio and close the windows. Sucks.

Links to a sound clip? Does he have reg mods or a 3.5 engine?

Clean has a 3.5 so it would prob be alot different. not to mention he is running huge piping.
the exhaust note hardly changed w/ OEM mufflers from the 3.2 to 3.5
my borla's are nasty, just do 2.25" piping and you will be golden, i love the sound of the borlas, its very deep down low, and in the high rpms it sounds just right.
2.5" isnt for the light hearted, it's obnoxious in a good way. go 2.25" catback w/ some 2.25 borlas and you will love it, dont forget to add a resonator in there.
i have a couple sound clips but their like 2MB, PM me if you want them or if someone can host them, their actually videos. also keep in mind my exhaust is pretty open, the clips were taken with a large hi-flow cat. with a stock cat it will be much more subtle.

5{\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0nt, and I am looking for an axle back only. I want everything bolt on and bolt off just in case. I am going to remove the resonator to help a little becasue with the icebox, its hardly audible. Headers only make a slight difference.
I have an awesome clip of the HKS I used to have, which might be a last resort, but where can I host a large file like that? Youtube?

uploaded my old exhaust, but it might need a few minutes to clear it says...
HKS Axle Back exhasut, AEM CAI, OBX Crap headers all on a 2001 Acura CL Type S.

I'll upload CleanCL's exhaust too when I get his emails, fine with you?

eshift did a good job, it was hard to find someone locally who does stainless steel and mandrel bends. eshift did both and made my borlas and custom y-pipe flanged for easy bolt-off.
i haven't heard cleancl's set up (mind posting a vid or a clip?
)
but i must say... the best sound that i have heard from our car has been the greddy evo. hands down.

CleanCL, its very difficult to hear anything. But from what it sounds like, I think its pretty similar to my setup posted before. I think Ima go with the HKS, its less expensive and bolts right on. Maybe I'll get some custom tips.
Custom work cannot make that much of a difference from name brand if things are machined correctly. Ron, what are you talking about headers only give a small gain? Lol, header gain = exhaust gain x 3. Unless you are talking about gain in audibility...
If you are getting exhaust to help you with shifting then you seriously need to just PRACTICE driving
There should be no need to hear the car to shift. For one thing you have a tach and another you should just be able to feel when its the right time. My last car had no tach and a 2000 watt stereo, so you learn to drive by feel. Relying on the sound of the car, or steadily watching the tach are bad habits

this place has a good deal for the evo2 http://www.gripmotorsports.com/ps~pn...-MODEL_CL.html i had trouble finding axle-backs. I had the SP on my old honda and the tone was great.

I'm only doing it for looks and sound. Tell me this doesn't sound sweet, its the HKS I used to have on my old CL:

if you hear the greddy in person. you'll understand
I had an apex'i catback on my car and it sounded pretty similar to the HKS's.
Heard Shinyblue's car and absolutely became obssessed w/ the note on it. lol.

Which model of HKS axle back exhaust you have, because I really like the sound of your exhaust.

I'm assuming he'll be installing the RonJon kit on his car, therefore he needs the larger tips ftw.
