Exhaust Question
Exhaust Question
I've been looking into this...but not sure if I want to do it...
My friend has a 98 Accord and on his exhaust he ran a straight pipe...not catalytic convertor or anything...jst a straight pipe...would there be a big gain in HP? and a large lose in MPG? Cause I'm thinking of getting one, but make it jst a bolt on and off process type or thing..where I can jst bolt on the straight pipe when I want it on vice versa w/ the convertor and how loud do you think the exhaust would actually get. My friends is pretty damn loud. BTW I'm planning to do this w/ a full Comptech Cat-Back exhaust.

correct, unless you have FI you will not see any gains... you will actually lose low end torque.
and you will never pass emission (if you have it in your area) when you go for inspection (if you have that in your area too)...
