Exhaust note?

What is the exhaust note like with CT icebox, headers, and cat back exhaust? Im interested in purchasing these mods... and wondering how they sound and preform....

The performance from the exhaust is minimal. I would get the CT headers instead. The CT exhaust does sound really sweet and look nice though, but for performance, headers will be a better buy for about the same cost.

As for the Icebox, you will not have much more noise than the stock intake, but will see some better performance gains than the exhaust. The AEM type CAI's will give you a much louder groul. Personally, I like the Icebox more. It looks more stock and I don't care for the noise. There have also been some complaints about the AEM's breaking at the support stem, and there is an increased chance of hydrolock.

The only issue with the CT Icebox is that the cover screws cannot be over tightened to prevent stripping. Happened to me and it sucks.

Good luck, and welcome to the forum.

well, i had headers before i got the icebox. and just the heades alone caused a resonance which made the exhaust almost sound like a 350z/g35. not nearly as fine but just as satisfying. having the icebox just made the engine and exhaust have a louder growl.

gotta love it.

I have the CT i/sc/h/full-catback installed on my CLS 6MT. I love the sound of the exhaust note. It's sweet but not too loud. I don't know if this will help, but here's a clip of my car on a dyno run at CT.

CT Dyno Run (right-mouse -> Save Target As to download)
