The exhaust note is pretty loud even with my windows and moonroof closed. It is not noticeable when the car is in motion but is loud when my car is not in motion. Do I have a bad exhaust pipe/muffler or is it normal for CL-S? I am too lazy to visit my Acura Dealer to try another CL-S.

The exhaust note on the 6-Speed is definitely louder then the 2001/2002 CL’s.
It almost sounds like a 2001 with Comptech mufflers, but without the “droning” noise that people complain about.

Yup...same thing I noticed.

 

I have an 2003 sport shift and I love the sound of our exhaust. I haven't heard a 6sp to compare. It seems that there are very few import cars that growl as nicely as ours do.

 

I love the sound of our exhaust too, but I just want to make sure it is not a faulty muffler...

 

Especially after passing 5,000 RPM

 

I haven't try RPM over 4.000 yet.. need to let the engine break in properly first.

 

I only get intake noise. (Stock intake with K&N filter). Nothing from the stock 01 exhaust at all.
