exhaust installation costs

I will be ordering a set of comptech mufflers soon, called midas to see how much to install them, they said $36 per, so $72 total. Does this sound like a good price?

I know that people have said that it is an easy install, but i do not have the space or the ramps or stands to do it.

You don't need ramps, and you don't need any extra space for the install. Its just four bolts off and four bolts back on and your done if you have ever used a "turny clicky thing"(amir) before it should take you 30min tops.

That is a rip. Go to some mom and pop muffler shop if you can't do it yourself. $20 max.

So you don't even have to jack up the car? I can just see myself driving down the road and hearing them fall off i do it.

Do it youself... trust me.

I had never done any mod when I decided to install my exhausts 2 years ago. I didn't even jack up the car. Got under it....loosened the bolts, remove the old exhausts, and bolted on the new ones. It's only 4 bolts total (2 for each muffler) and it only took me about 40 min.. and it only took that long b/c the factory bolts were very tight.

A ratchet, proper socket, a torque wrench, and a beer... both sides in less than 20 minutes. Easy job.

No ramps, no jacks, no headaches, plus you get to keep your $72 for something cooler... like 18 more beers.

its really easy....only other thing to get is a can of something like WD40, because you have to slide the muffler hangers 2 for each muffler into a rubber piece.........the WD40 just makes it easier

If you don't have any kind of mechanical/automotive experience, then it's probably best to take it to a shop for peace of mind.

But exhaust mufflers installation is as easy as installing an STB in the engine bay.

It sound a little high, unless your muffler bolts are rusted and seized. Most CA car don't have rust problem and removal is easy.

It's SOOOO easy. I have h&r sport springs on my TL and I didn't even use ramps to jack up the car. The only thing that was necessary was a metal pipe to get extra leverage on the Socket wrench to get those old bolts off. Took me a total of 20min...SUPER EASY to do.

All you have to do is remove a couple bolts and the do the opposite. I think I would let my girlfriend to this install.
