Enter another Newbie to the mix....
I'm glad to have come across these boards! There seems to be a lot of great information on here and it's a very active community. Definitely the best one that I've seen yet. So here's to the beginnings of a new relationship Acurazine.
I'm a proud new owner of an 03' CL Type-S 6spd. That seems to be the popular model going right now according to the latest threads from newbies that have posted over the last month or so. Hurray for off-leases!
Anyway, I've always loved these cars and I'm so happy to have one now. I have a Nighthawk Black on tan edition. It was a long journey getting here. I used to own a 99' CL 3.0 back in 2001. However, I sold that to buy two Mustang 5.0's. Then the new CLs came out and I wanted one, but the rather low power offering and lack of a manual tranny dissuaded me from purchasing one. Enter the Type-S, mmmmmm tasty I said, but alas, no manual option. By the time the 03's came out I had already purchased a modified 2000 Contour SVT to satisfy my sporting needs. Many moons and many cars later, I decided to get back into the luxo-sport/refined coupe market and here I am. I considered a host of vehicles and decided that I wanted/needed to get what my heart desired back in 2001. So here I am.
Well, I've planned on some mods and after looking at the offerings for the car, I can see that I will have to open up my wallet a bit. But that's okay. It's a great platform to work with and with a few tweaks I think I'll have something to satisfy my Carnymphomania for the time being. The mods I have planned are the standard: headers, exhaust, intake, short shifter, springs, shocks/struts, tint, interior asthetics, and possibly some nice shoes in the later future.
That's it for now, I would post pics but I'm sure you all have seen what a bone stock CL-S looks like MANY times.

Welcome to a fellow Texan, Congrats on the 6 speed! I love the refinement and features on the CLS, and the shifter is the best out there. My mods are mostly cosmetic, you mention interior aesthetics, here's pics of mine, I added aluminum dash, alum door sills, TSX shift knob. I fixed the knob fitment since this photo. working on a perf leather boot now.

how handsome I am
welcome to the site man. Wish I was as lucky as you are now to have picked up an 03 CL-S6, but alas I'll have to settle with my 97 2.2CL5 .
Take care,
-Alex

Thanks for the welcome all. Yeah, I was lucky to score the 6spd. TX 123456speed, where did you get that aluminium dash kit from? I have the wood interior on mine and I want to go aluminium/look all around. I've found where to get the sill from, etc.

Oops I was thinkin you had the black interior. It's not easy to change out the wood trim. You have to basically paint it. None of the trim I added applies to where any of the stock wood trim is. Most all dash kits (wood or alum) for the CLS cover the black plastic flat panels on the dash and center console not where the stock wood trim already is..
On the 03 CL, with black interior, instead of the wood trim it comes stock with plastic silver trim where the wood is on your tan interior, so you are seeing my stock silver trim on the console edges and added alum kit elsewhere.
there is no aftermarket pieces for where your wood is now, (so to speak))

Head over to the "AcuraZine Clubs & Meets" forum and check the "Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex Meets" thread.
Tonight, everyone's over at Trance's doing jello shots. (Except me. I'm at work. )

Unfortunately it's not a cheap or easy switch to change the trim from wood to silver. I think you have to buy the entire door panels. Some have just painted the trim.
