Engine Shot @68000kms...
Was driving on HWY and Engine made clunking noise, pulled over and saw all dash lights on.Had the Car towed at My Acura Dealership. They found the cylinders scored and metal strips in the oil.Initially they wanted to replace parts but I insisted on whole Engine..Just picked it up today with a Brand new Engine.
DO U guys think I should stick with this car?I've only had it for a Year!!!Pls suggest..

Um, this is the first I've ever heard of this happening. Honda engines are the best in the business, I'm sure this was a fluke.
Did you follow regular maintence schedules? Oil changes, etc?

Had oil change done at the same dealership 3 months ago..The were very surprised as well. I think they may have messed up with the timing cus first they replaced timing tensioner.Maybe they didn't set the timing right and when they turned the engine on it scored the pistons..I'm just wondering whether I should keep the car after all this mess..

hehehe...the whole engine meaning a short block and heads right...yeah they probably did something wrong w/ the tensioner replacement. Don't sell it...now u have a brand new engine plus this is very rare which means the car really has no other problems. Keep it in my opinion!!

Does anyone know what kind of components wud have been replaced during the Engine change? Is there any way to verify if the Engine was indeed a new one or rebuilt?
Wud I have a warranty on it from Honda? All i know was that it came in 3 parts to the dealership.
