Engine Mounts started to crack

I went and got my 45k service done yesterday and they said that a couple of my engine mounts were starting to crack, so they replaced them. The total cost of replacing them was almost $800, but it was covered under warranty, so I just paid the cost of the service.

So what exactly causes your engine mounts to just start cracking? I don't have any mods on my car, it's an 03 auto cl-s, and i drive it somewhat hard occasionally (but who doesnt?). So is it just a 'normal' thing that happens with time?

When I had mine replaced I was told that it happens over time, but even more from too much hard acceleration.

its cuz the torque and how heavy our cars are. they go fast as hell in the cls bc of these reasons especially if you go hard and especially if you go hard off the line
