Engine Differences btw CL-P CL-S

Does anyone know what the difference in the type s engine that account for the 35 hp. I was wondering if there was anything i could change or do to narrow the gap. I'm not talking about headers, intake etc cause i am going to do those too. Thanks.

For the amount of $ you spend on comptech headers UR pullies and a CAI plus installation, it would have cost the same to get a type s

read my reply... thats all of em..... suspensions are modified as well but that has no effect on horsepower (at the engine)

Not that I know of.... The compression upgrade costs would be pretty damn steep for an engine pull... at that point you might as well do a 3.5Litre upgrade..... and im not sure how much hp just the manifold swap would give you at 9.8:1 (considering youd need to get the imrc solenoids and wire the harness to the ecu as well) .. In all NOT WORTH the trouble ! trust me

i don't think anyone exactly answered you question. the engines are the same. the type-s makes more hp by the intake.

Well not to bust balls... BUT the intake is peanuts compared to the increase in compression

Hmmmm....seems you all forgot about that cam they installed on the type-S...
The intake accounts for the torque bump and at a much lower rpm and for a longer time.
The compression helps it overall, but combine this with what is essentially a mild street cam for the Type-S...and you get the extra 35 ponies....also probably the optimized timing combined to give it a bit more as well...
