EMERGENCY-help stock sway bar

I've run into a problem disconnecting the stock sway bar. One side was fine, but the other side just spins. Is there a trick, other than the allen wrench on the end that isn't working.
Thanks!

first off, u shouldve payed 75 bucks for parkave acura to do it for u. its so annoying. i did mine already.

get a ALLEN KEY and a open wrench. place the allen key inside the hole in the screw to hold it from moving then turn with the wrench. have a friend help you. i stripped my hole where the allen key goes and i had to pay for new bearings. it was a bitch.

It wasn't no 75 bucks here. I'm installing the coil overs and they wanted 400 bucks. I'm getting it now, but it's really slow.

why are u removing the sways. dont do that

for the rear, remove the long bar, then 1 bolt for the shock and maybe if u have to the plate next to the bolt. by removing 2 screws. i had to cuz i couldnt align it right.

for the front. remove the bolts on the bottom(2 of them) then on top remove the 5 screws.

For the rear you must undo the sway link to the "axle" in order to remove the strut assembly. I eventually got it undone using your method (it's what I was already doing, but I hoped there was another way). It added about 75 minutes to the job (2.5 hours total for rear, 2 hours front).

Thanks for your help. Tein SS are installed and the car is LOW. Have to work on raising it back up a bit tomorrow night.

I don't think you have to undo the sway bar link to get the strut assembly out.

YUP

you dont even have to touch the sways when removing the shock/strut assembley

IMHO just put everything back to normal and call around a shop that will do it for $150

now some may disagree but spring install is no way a easy install and if you have never done it and dont have the tools to expidite the install it could possibly take you all day to do it!

it was a bitch when i started to so i said fuck it and took it to a shop, paid $180 went out to eat with my friend came back 3 hours later and the car looked awesome!

Well, I don't know how I could get the strut assembly out without removing that link. Believe me, I tried for about 15 min and it wasn't coming out. As soon as I got it undone, I slipped it out and went on my merry way. Really quite easy once the link was moved out of the way.

Trust me. You didn't have to disconnect the links. I did the springs myself on my car and I never even came close to undoing the links. But I mean, they aren't that hard to disconnect and made it a lot easier for you, so that's all that matters.

Some people don't think removing the STB is necessary when doing the rear bank header, but I found it a lot easier with it off the car, with a lot more room to maneuver in.

Whatever the method, as long as the project gets done right, it's all good. We all come here to share information and make things easier for others, and we're just telling you that it wasn't absolutely necessary to remove the links to get the strut assembly out. That's all.

No matter to me one way or the other. Deed is done and all is well. Wish I could've figured it out without undoing that damn link, but I guess I just didn't have the imagination to get it. I'll have the air tools before the sway install tho!

Thanks for all the help everyone.
