take a flat head screw driver in the middle part of it, that pops up first, the it slides out, check me out on IM "fbazakos" if you need more help.

yeah, the middle pops out. there is a break in the outside ring so you can get the flathead in there. I found it effective once i got the flat head in there, to twist it a bit, and it pops out. That retracts the flange, and the whole thing slides out easily ... i gotta hop offline for a few, i'll check back in a bit...

I can not belive it, can't acura think of easier way of using plastic turn right to scerw, turn left to un-screw!

I already broke one clip. And my car is disabled. Iwas able to remove 80% (upper part) of stock air intake with no problem.

Why those silly clips will not go out! The clips are easily broken when I user a screw driver to try to get them out!

Please, help!

Thanks.

No easy way to get the resonator out, it will have to be removed from the bottom. Of course the easiest way is to completely remove the whole front underskit, but it can be manageable to just remove the side right underneath the reasontor (driver side).

Just to show my appreciation for fbazakos, a very helpful person indeed.

This is the email I sent this morning at 3:00 AM ET,with some more comments between [ .... ]

fbazakos,

Finally, at exactly 3:00 AM the installation is complete! Thanks for all the help and guidance and encouragement you provided. I left my Nigh Hawk warming up outside. The installation went somehow easy after I get rid od the stuck and broken clip.

The only thing that needs to be replaced is a plastic clip [replaced for 3$ from the dealer]. The screwdriver I was using lost its cap and the spring that holds the batteries. It get lose and fell off. Those things fell, unfortunately, in the engine compartment and they somewhere over the underlining splashguards! I hope either I will locate and remove them or they will fell by themselves on the ground {maybe they fell off when I hit some bumps].

I entered the Navigator and Radio code and I need to program my seat and I am all set.

One thing I noticed is that one of the hoses is now hitting the hood and I need to be careful when I close the hood. [Also, the because washer is bit large, I can't keep the CAI tube from hitting and rubbing the frame, a smaller washer may allow me to tighten it in a way (i.e., higher) not to rub the frame]

First impression, the sound of the CAI is somewhat not muted [when the hood is open] at idle, but not that annoying, from inside the cabin, it is like stock!

[When crusing, It sound like stock, but performace wise, the throtle response is way more responsive and lighteningly quick. I went to test my new mod, temprature was in high 20s or maybe 30, so from a stop sign, I jsut floored it, and I get SCARED!!!, that thing is BARKING at me!, it is not only vrooom of the VTEC. It is lovely sound and rushed with a kick in the butt when it down-shifted, and the tacho needle just went like rocket to the redline, shifted to the 3rd and I was some 75 and had to stop for a light. I took the HW and tried again WOT, and same result, I got a nice grin .]

Time to go to the bed now.
