Exclamation Emergency hand (foot) brake?

My emergency (parking) brake does absolutely nothing. I've put myself into neutral, and thinking I was on absolutely no incline, started to roll back and had to throw it back into park.

Like it does absolutely NOTHING. Is it natural for the CL e-brakes to suck this much? Or should I get it replaced? (Possibly under warranty still?)

normally e-brakes require adjustment, but that sounds like something is broken. if you still have warranty, try it.

Is it possible that the brake could have been worn down?

I remember an ocassion or two where friends that didn't know what they were doing drove my car and kept the e-brake on cause they didn't know where it was, and didn't know to take it off until I asked them what the hell was going on. .

One of 'em took it around a whole neighborhood block with the e-brake on once. I jumped out of the car to say hi to someone, and my bitch of a 'friend' just drove off. I could hear the squeaking from the whole time I was standing on the sidewalk.

Damn dude that sucks. I'm far from being a genius, but i'll bet that had a whole lot to do with your e-brake not working/ not responding now.

I hope you or his dumbass. I know I would have been if I were there even if it wasnt my car.

Situation one: Bitch of a friend took it around the block w/out my permission. I got out of the car to say hi and chat alil' with a friend and thought it would be in bad taste to address her from the window of my car . So I thought my friend had enough respect for other people's property not just drive off like that. Thought wrong.

Situation two: Almost fell asleep @ the wheel while going home @ 4am. Switched drivers and they took the car up to 50 or so on the freeway before I freaked out and had them take the e-brake off.

and I let my SOBER friends drive when I'm drunk. It's the responsible thing to do.

you would have to had rode the e-brake for a looong time to render it completely useless.

i let a friend drive my car and we were on the freeway for a good 8-10 miles. we arrrived at our destination and i smelled the burnt brakes as i was walking away from the car. i'm at 81k miles and they still work just fine. i had to adjust the cable slightly at the pedal once.

Kick the body builder in the nuts then being to mud stomp on his head. Simple enough. Or grab a Bat. Bigger they are harder they fall. Longer it takes for em to get back up. Shouldnt be afraid of any human. They are Human and they can get thier ass kicked. Simple Enough.

Sounds like your E-Brake is broke. Not worn down. Go get it looked at. If your under warranty shouldnt be an issue.

Hha, after it's all said and done. The fool is still my friend. I'm just bein' alil' over dramatic. But it's cool. Warranty is magic.

I just wanted to see if it was possible for the e-brake pads to fade...
