Emergency Brake Check?

My kid drove my 01 CL with 77K home yesterday from an errand (about 1 mile at 30 MPH with a few traffic lights) with the emergency brake on. The brakes still seem to work fine. I hardly ever use the e-brake. Is there anything I should check on it?

the e-brake is seperate from your brake pads. there is a drum in the rear that has shoes on the inside for the handbrake. you should be fine.

Thanks all. I am going to yell at him anyway. I'll give him the car next year and then it will be his problem!

The one and only time I forgot my e-brake on, I took the car up to over 100mph for about 2 miles up while up north. Noticed a weird shaking at those speeds. Got to the place I was headed and realized the brake was on. Checked everything out on a lift back at the house later and everything was fine.

the e brake is contained inside the rear rotors.. visual inspection wouldn't tell you anything.. only way you'd know if there is damage is by removing the rotor and checking the shoes/pads and see if there is any serious wear on the rotor itself. most likely nothing will neeeed to be replaced.

the e brake is self adjusting supposedly so unless the ebrake is no longer doing it's job.. then i'd start looking for the culprit
