I have had the same electrical problem three times iwth my CL-S. It shorts out the shifter/tranny (can't shift into any gear higher than second because of SS I guess) and my dash among other things. The other day when it happened I said screw it I had to get to work so I drove to work in it anyway.....in second. I drove about 25 miles on the highway and I tried to stay slow I estimate about 50 does anyone out there whether this took a bunch of miles of the life of my engine. I was problem in the 4-5 K rpms range. My dealer thinks he has found the problem after the third time and I want to know what other systems might have been damaged or worn so I could tell him to take a look at them.

see if you can get a new type s.

 

That engine will run all day at 4-5000 RPM with no problems!! The CL is geared way too high anyway. Hope you get the problem taken care of!!

 

I wish the lemon law did apply but here in MA you have to have the same problem a total of 5 times to have it apply. The dealer gets three chances to fix the problem, then the manufacturer gets a chance, then the stupid thing has to break again to get a new Type S. I love the car but I dont ha ve the time or patience to take it to the dealer every few monthes when it breaks down unexpectedly.
