Electric "supercharger"???

My neighbor was telling me about this. Evidently he bought one and is waiting to have it shipped. He has an Accord LX (yr 2001?) and he feels that any extra power is good power. I am not sure that I believe this product. It appears that it is just an inline fan? Have any of you guys ever heard of this or tried one? I am happy with my current mods and don't even know if it would fit the Icebox but I was surprised that I hadn't seen it mentioned here before.

Andy,

this is just more or less a gimmick, a toy... a true E-Supercharger is something like Turbodyne Turbopac/TurboAir : http://home.arcor.de/hildst/starteng.html

don't waste your time guys....I can tell you that is a big intake restriction. It might be somewhat beneficial to a FI car at idle since it can suck in ambient air and cool things down a bit after a spirited run.

I had never heard of one so I figured that I would see what you guys thought. I will pass the info on to my neighbor. My take on the whole thing is that he just wants any help he can get with his 150hp Accord and this seemed cheap enough for him to try. I don't get the impression that he researched it much (at all?). He has also added a CAI and plans to add a fart-cannon exhaust. Hey, to each their own. After all is said and done he might have added 15-20hp with those mods? At least that will be enough for him to feel a bit of difference even if I will be able to hear him a mile away!

I am thinking that Ray is right, if the thing isn't spinning (it spins only at WOT) then it actually restricts the intake?
