eibach sways not impressed
Everyone on here says that sway bars make a day and night difference...well I dont think so. I think it was a waste of money on my part. I had the car lowered for about a month before I put these on...after the sways were put on the cars handling feels the exact same, nothing feels more firm or tighter and there is still the same body roll on all the turns on the exact same speed before the sways were put on....oh well what a dissapointment

No I am not selling them, they arent the "best mod" like people say on the forum...i think lowering the car helped the handling more....but Im not paying to take them off, i may as well keep em on, maybe i will feel a difference after driving more

I honestly felt a difference in handling when i put the sways on. This is just with an eibach drop and stock shocks. It felt even better after I got aftermarket shocks on. Plus if you've driven a better handling car in the past then its hard to compare because the CL seriously handles like a boat. The suspension parts just improve the crappy handling to a tolerable level.

Yea i figured that...i think springs/shocks have a better effect on handling then the sways do to be honest, but o well...now its time for Stone headers if they ever come out

Where can I get a rear lower tie bar and can header be put on with a rear lower tie bar?
#11
I got mine for ebay. It's bolt on and does not interfere with any of the exhaust piping. I have it on my TL-s. You might need some shorter lock nuts and a alignment afterwards. here are some pics:

Sorry my bad. it was for a 98+ accord v6. I did the drop first, then the sways. I have the eibachs as well. Did not notice any real difference, but the rear lower tie bar made it seem like the car drifts better. I definitely hit corners a lot harder than before and the rear seems to slide out more controllable. If you were in OC, you can try out my ride and see for yourself. Besides its cheap.

The bar is install in the rear, just behind the rear sways and the rear exhaust piping. It doesn't hit anything. The bar attaches to the rear suspension points only. Just like the ones you see on civics and integras, on the cl, tl and accords the bar is hidden behind our dual exhaust piping.

Can I install it myself and how long....by the way lets also get back on topic, what makes you all so impressed with sways as a great suspension modification, it really does not reduce body roll as you all previously mentioned

Have you honestly pushed your car to the limit with the stock sway bars on? Like to the point that the rear tires are about to lose grip?
I'm guessing you have not, because you wouldn't be saying all this. Sway bars make a HUGE difference. Either you're too tame of a driver, are insensitive to car's behaviors, or the shop ripped you off. Neither Comptech nor Eibach sway bars will make our cars corner completely flat. That's just impossible with those sizes and designs. But they should've at least improved handling dramatically.

Pure Adrenaline...I probably drive just as hard as anyone on this forum...I get 10k miles out of all season tires...I push my car to the limit every day and I just dont see a day and night difference with the sways...i am not insensitive to the car either.

Fuzzy long story...I called Fyad before I went down to Margate to confirm he could work on my car as soon as I got down there and the charge would be 1 hour. He said he to come on down and hed charge me an hour and get them on for me. So I drive an hour and show up at his place...He looks at the sways and underneath my car and says..."Ive never installed sways on a Cl before, I will have to charge you 2 hours"...so I said didnt you put on Jasons on his 02 Cl-S...he goes no Jason put them on himself. He then tells me he cant do it today and needs to make an appointment for something "as hard and as long as this". Well at this point Im pissed because he didnt keep his word and made me drive an hour to be let down...so I tell him to take my car off their lift and I am going elsewhere where I know Ill get quality work and service. So then I call my buddy Roger at Japtrix hell of a nice guy...He is located in Lake Worth, the shop is called Japtrix. He fit me in for 2:00 charged me 2 hours $150 and the sways were installed..and I made sure they used the lithium grease. Put the stock parts right back in my trunk and this is my second awesome experience with them!
As Far as the Sways....I cant feel them much at all, Im going driving again today, but yes my tires may have a negative impact... they are 215/50/17 Contiextremecontact but the tread is wearing down quick and have about 2-4k miles left on them...maybe holding me back, not to mention the outsides of the tires have more wear cuz I corner so hard.

Sorry about that. I had 2 CLs's an 02 & an 03. They did put the pair on the 02. I put them on the 03. I'll have to talk to them about that. That's not right. These are VERY easy to install in less then an hour. Should have called me.
Anyhow, Tires might be the issue. You might want to go to 235-45 or 225-45 when you replace them.
I didn't have stock size tires on my car with the sways.

I was never a real believer that sways/springs helped handling much in our CLs... but I had an '04 TL loaner with 8k miles on it a few weeks ago and my CL felt downright nimble in comparison. Not sure if it was the sways... springs... or tires... or everything combined. Either way.... worth the $$.

renegade, my experiance as follows:
i hade h&r sport springs installed prior to taking 4/00 delivery of new cls,(the test drive i took showed too much body roll. the spring install improved the body roll significantly) installed comtech sway bars in 2003. however, i didnt properly install and torque the end link fasteners on one side and didnt BALANCE the end links relative one to another and my initial test drive nearly caused me to lose control of the car in the first couple of turns! subsequently i rebalanced the end links and tightened the links and brackets to spec and retested(end result, i noted additional improvement after the sways install) (balancing the links IS important) hope this helps
