The initial review seems positive, although there are funny comments like "...sticky and silent Michelin tires provide confident grip..." LOL

these are the same tires as ours right???

we'll see how the in depth review goes in a few months...if that liz kim lady does the review, i'm sure it will be bad

although i have no plans to trade my car in for the 6-speed, i would love to test drive one...

"The company claims that a manual-shift CL Type-S is 0.5 seconds quicker in 0-to-60 testing than an automatic version, putting it right at 6 seconds flat. Our seat-of-the-pants meter doesn't dispute the claim, though we're anxious to confirm this figure with instrumented testing."

the manual cars don't need the gear indicator on the tachometer like the automatics do.

It has a wider sweep area since there is no need for the automatic gear selection display.

I thought someone said that C&D said that their was not much of a difference b/w 6-speed and auto? Accorinding to edmunds .5sec diff....If that is the case the 6 -spd is going to rock.

All in all, a pretty +ve article....wow all they did is change the trans and now they like the car!!

Actually I think that could've been a cool feature.

Best Part

This is the best part:

"And, if you order your Type-S with the ebony interior, titanium-look trim will grace the door panels and center console."

No offense to all you current CL owners, but I'm not a fan of plastic wood.

review

Seemed like a pretty postive first impression. Others in the past have complained about the lack of steering feedback. Edmunds likes it. Wonder if any changes have been made.

I just got the chance to read the review and it's pretty positive, which is great. I don't doubt his assessment.

But his technical sophistication is just crap. The helical-gear LSD is nothing like ATTS. I'd like the chance to rip this guy a new one for BS'ing an entire paragraph on it.

BMW

Most of their review was based on accusations made by acura.... none of them were confirmed/measured...

the funniest one has to be "First Impression: A front-wheel-drive BMW" there's any oxymoron

LOL, ya with our super front end heavy car vs. near 50/50 weight distributed car... I DONT THINK SO.... even my friends 323i has less body roll than our cars.
