My friend has a twin turbo supra, and his parents are giving him 3000 dollars for his christmas/car upgrade present.
(i know, i wish they were my parents too)

What would be better?

A full on eclipse system (speakers tweeters head unit changer subs amps)

or

A full pioneer system of equal quality to that of the eclipse

or

Any comments on systems that are high quality but fit in this price range (he wants all alpine but has no money he says!?!?!)

He can get all that in an alpine unit....depends if he wants a video screen or not....
Get a Boston Acoutics component set...$600...and some rear speakers...if he wants another component set(say he wants 2 more tweets and mids)...add another $600
$1200 for speakers..otherwise add $300 for decent mids.
get a Alpine 4 channel for $400....a punch amp for $300.....a good box for about $400...$1000 fora head unit and changer....the alpine changer is $400 and a HU can be had for $600....add another $500 for the DSP unit(EQ)...damn...tell him to spend a little of his own money if he wants everything...

 

Eclipse have some of the finest amps and speakers. I love their decks too.

 

i'd upgrade the performance, fuck the radio.

 

 

Tell him to get the Eclipse 7301. That's what I have. Pics below. I was actually thinking of selling mine. I'll sell it to him. For cheap. The new Eclipse Navigation came out. Tell him to get that and some Eclipse Titanium subs. nothing else on the market will even touch those. But you gotta get some good f*ck'n amps to power those bad boys.

 

tell him to get an eclipse deck boston rally components , eclipse backs and titanium subs if hes got the money.. i would put that system up against any other ...

I would take the new pioneer AVX-P7300DVD to the 7301 any day and I am a loyal ECLIPSE owner too. Heres my system :

Screen - Pioneer AVX-P7300DVD
Brain - Pioneer AVM-P9000R (dolby digital, DTS, etc)
Speakers - Focal 165W3's in the front
Subs - 2 ECLIPSE 12" 88120DVC's

The only thing I don't like about those units is the brain. the 7301 is just one piece. And I went to a show where Fuj Ten was featured and their navigation is SICK!! I definitely plan on adding that because the current Alpine Nav isn't doing it for me. Those are old pisc of my system. i'll ake moe as soon as I do my new faceplate. Those three things in the back are for A/V for my PS2, Xbox, etc.
