I,m going to be driving over to LACR this Friday. They open at 5 pm. According to their website, the times at this track will be lower due to the elevation. I guess my only other option is the track over in Fontuckey, the California Dragway? It's real far though. Anyway, the LACR site gives a math formula to convert times to at sea level.

yeah, the IC looks great
and my buddy expecting the same setup soon except the horizontal reservoir will go instead of spare tire, right Steve?
Chemmech how much is Wilwood BBK and what part #?

Keep in mind, this was the first time at the 1/4 mile track for me.
I had a horrible reaction time of .911, I guess I was asleep at the wheel. I also had alot of wheel hop off the line.
The track is 2,710 ft. above sea level, so I used the LACR sites correction table.
My 1/4 mile E.T. was 14.312; Sea level correction 14.312 * .97 = 13.88
MPH was 98.405; Sea level correction 98.405 * 1.03 = 101.35
I only got in 2 runs, my two daughters were getting cranky after the 3.5 hour drive to get out there. I wish I could have stayed later and gotten more runs in. The other run was slower than the first, I went thru the water at the pit and when the light went green, I just spun my tires thru 1 ,2 & 3 gears.
Of course a better driver could have gotten much better times .

60' times? Don't know, all I see are t1 t2 & t3? I did a couple of other things that hurt my time, gas tank was full and I left my spare tire in the trunk.
Anyway,
t1 2.317
t2 6.171
t3 9.306 at 78.346 mph
t4 11.943

t1 is gonna be your 60' time. A 2.3 isn't horrible but it could be improved. My best is a 2.0, but I've only done that once. I regularly run 2.1s.
The altitude must really be hurting you as I run faster than your ET and all of your T1, T2, T3, T4 times regularly. Although once corrected you are .3 faster than me. It comes with practice. Hopefully the track will still be open by the time my I/C is installed.

Most people say that, but currently I always run through the water... then just scuff off the tires real quick to get the water off and anything that is stuck on the tires as well.

I've been dying to go get my car timed...but I don't see the point in going to LACR...plus I'll be a drag strip newbie...so I'd need to go with someone to show me what the fuck to do. How much does it cost to go to one of these things?

My times were off due to the ESM from the Comtech S/C kit. The E-Manage works off the map sensors input, but the ESM was still wired into my harness. The ESM was intercepting and clamping the signal at around 2.7 volts before it reached the E-Manage, so there was little to no tuning going on. In conjunction with the lowered fuel pressure that I'm running, and the lack of timing and injector tunning from the E-Manage, my times were much slower than they should have been. The cure was to take out the ESM so that the E-Manage can do its thing. I definately want to get back to the track since the times I got were way off what they should have been .
After I check my work schedule, I'll let everyone know when I will be heading to the track. Fontana seems like a good track to me , LACR is abit up in elevation.

I just took mine off after Steve notified me. Hopefully you and I can make some improvements after all our tuning is done. At least you had fun at the track.

[QUOTE=mrsteve]Do you guys both have notebook computers to tune it in the car? I might have to go get one. I really didn't want to spend the cash though.[/QUOTE
Unfortunately I don't, and even if I did, until I get the plugs squared away I wont realize any improvements or change.

I sort of stretched the numbers into the lower values of the pressure sensor voltage across the rpm range. I just loaded a map today with no retard in the timing, so I'll keep an eye on things to see how they go. I can definately feel the E-manange working now, the car pulls alot harder now at the lower rpm ranges . I haven't logged any data yet, I'm using a really old computer to load the maps onto the E-Manage. It's an old clunker, the type with the floppy and cd -rom contained in one unit with the screen. I just need an extension cord to get powered up.

The car is running fine, Hard to stay below 80 on the freeway . I haven't been able to get the car dyno tuned yet, but it really needs to be done, especially to get the most out of the setup. If you run into any difficulties with the install let me know, I'll try to help . So your getting the kit?

I want to see a front shot of the heat exchangers and how you finished off the res. tank in the trunk.
P.S. any tips that I should be aware of, because I plan on installing MrSteves in about 3-4 hours time.

Sorry I couldn't write sooner.
Here's some things that I noticed, remember I have a TL-S, the CL may be different.
TIPS
1. zip tie the power steering hose to the strut tower bar, tit rubbed a hole in one of the smaller lines on my IC.
2. For the TL, be prepared to do some cutting of the front bumber to make room for the heat exchangers up front
3. I had some engine codes for running lean. I have had excellent results with the fuel regulator set to 40 psi now, with the vacuum/pressure line hooked to it at idle. (it is a bit rich, oh well )
4. Use a puller to remove the pulley from the front of the super charger. Prying on the pulley to get it off may damage the supercharger, you might pull the shaft from the bearings, or cause the belt to be misaligned.
5. Tighten the belt really snug, a loose belt will cause the engine to surge erratically all the way up to wot.
6. The pump in the IC system should be located close to the resevoir, so that it is pulling water from the resevoir.
7. You can wire a relay off of switched power for the pump for convenience, use a meter or test light to verify a proper source.
8. You must run the throttle setup on the E-Manage computer program for it to function properly. My car sputtered and barely ran when I forgot to do this.
9. Do not not mess with the map type selection, Scalbert set it up already. Changing this will burn out alot of fuses , if not the ECU .
10. Remove the Comptech ESM from the system, and restore the wiring. The E-Manage will need to see the MAP signals full range to operate correctly. The E-Manage will do the job of the ESM and clamp the voltage so that no codes will be set on the cars ECU.
11. Have fun, that's all I can remember right now.
