That's about right... you have to remember that those #'s are at the wheels. He's at 198hp stock, 228 with the headers (30hp gain), and 236 with the intake (another 8hp gain, total of 38hp gained)... can't go wrong there.... exhaust won't do anything... 1-2hp TOPS.....

I believe the comptech exhaust will give you about 4hp. My mugen exhaust gave me 3hp, 3torque throughout the whole rpm range.

as JB said that's at the wheels. the parasitic loss through the drivetrain just kills hp/torque. o well, i love the automatic when i'm stuck in traffic.

Wow..
I always thought that those mods did not add much of power to our cars but 40 hp and 16 pounds of torque is not bad at all!! How much does both cost individually?
Thanks..

www.autocarparts.com is selling the intake for $214 and the headers are going for $1100. you can install the cai and the headers take about 3 hours to install (i think)

Thanks fellas! I appreciate the info.. but is there anything we can do to the drivetrain to get more pwr to the wheels. Replacing the tranny is not a option

you could take your tranny to a performance shop and have them rework your tranny. everything would have to be custom made and it would definitely waive your warranty.

If not beefing up tranny with level 10 or Art Carr you will have to wait till RES and Supercharger are available to add more power!
Highly recommend strengthening trans if adding supercharger. Oh I almost forgot you could add a shot of NOS as some are doing! Personally would not add NOS unless drag racing as it is very hard on stock engine without beefing up rods and pistons, but having said that some are adding low doses NOS and doing ok. Goodluck with your mods!
