Dyno of a headporting Job

(I know this is a double post but I'm still not sure what forum everybody is using)

I think it was beatya or somebody was asking about headporting. Well here is a dyno comparing before and after. The heads were ported by two different companies and they are two different kind of heads. So you can't compare them against each other. But they are 4 cyc engines and one of them gained 20hp just from the port job. So it should be higher with our head, I would think. http://www.importreview.com/reviews/...SPortflow.html

And both of these places are highly recommended. I favor portflow because i have bought some stuff from him before and he is EXTREMELY friendly. I couldn't get him off the phone because he just wanted to talk about cars.

I wonder if anyone has a picture (up close) of our Acura CL Type-S heads. If they are really rough, or the ports don't match up well with the air intake runners, then a port job/clean-up might be great.

I've seen people with low performance engines get stuff ported and polished only to lose power due to low velocity air flow.
This causes power loss due to poor engine cylinder filling.

The best results seem to occur with engines with hot cams, high compression, and high rpm limits.

Who knows, maybe a proper job would stop that power loss around 6400-6600 with the comptech headers????

I know acura gives the type R a slight port and polish job at the factory. So maybe ours do too?? But I haven't seen anything about that. I've only heard that we get our extra hp over the preiuem model by a hi-flow exhaust, pistons, and the dual stage runners.

Damn, I didn't know that your relationship turned out like this. Anyway, congrats on the site and good luck!

BTW, this is some good shit! I'm interested in this port stuff. For $1500 shit 20HP to the wheel is not bad at all!

Milled means shaved. they shaved the head 12k of a inch to raise the compression. Also people only use one 2 layer of the head gasket. Which is usually 3 layers.
