dvd conversion question..

I know someone is working on a new improved DVD video conversion instruction set... I know you can use the navi dvd player but would a portable dvd player be more effective? maybe easier switching between navi and dvd video (i'm waiting for the instruction sheet to complete understand how the process works..)

Anywho.. has anyone had any experience with these portable dvd players? They seem to be pretty reasonably priced...

Well in previous instructions they never made any mention of having to use an external DVD player.. If you follow that link that I posted before there is a TL instruction list, and an external DVD player isn't mentioned.

Here's my comments on the dvd conversion FWIW:

1.You must use an external DVD player. Portables are better because they are smaller. Some if not all work, I believe the one of eBay posted earlier will work.

2.Yes, there is an easier way to connect to the Navi without going into the Navi in the dash. Simply connect to the Navi unit mounted in the trunk. But if you want a nice clean install, I'm thinking you'll need to remove the center console anyway. In any case, it is not that difficult to go into this area.

3.Finally, he's right, you don't know what you are missing.
