do NOT wash your car in the sunlight. PLUS the bay area water sux a fat nut ( no pics sorry ) and leaves spots.

i've learned from experience to only wash my car at the end of the day when the sun is behind my house so that the water doesn't burn onto the car. it's very difficult to get that kinda stuff off afterward.

be gentle on your car. i know my car has alot of scratches from me wiping it so hard. after a good wax/buff job, the water tends to come off the car alot more easy too. so you might want to try that some time

First, always dry it in the shade. Second, I use one towel and wipe down a panel, then immediately go over the same panel with a dry towel. By doing this, one towel will get somewhat wet, and will help wet some places that may have dried already. Also, make sure you have nice towels that absorb water well. If this still doesn't look good you can go over the whole car with Mcquires quick detail and shine it all up. Zaino makes a similar product for the twice the price.

I've been using it for years. Only use it on a clean car.

I have a black cls and you need to remember two things. The car body temperature has to be atleast around 63. You also need plenty of shade. You also need good car wash liquid. NEXT, Absorber (For about 8 bucks you can't go wrong). Meguiars, Eagle One, or Zaino quick detailers are a good buy after drying.

here is what you do.... after washing/rinsing the car remove any nossels from the water hose and then just hold the hose over the car. The water coming out of the hose will sheet over the car and the water will run right off the car. It will be pretty dry then just use a towel on bumper and a few other places and your set

I do as follows...

Wash, clear off excess water with Cali Water Blade... wipe down with Absorber... then use Zaino Spray & 100% cotton bath towel.

... bling ...

My black secret is to constantly wet the car down as you wash it ! When your fininh an area, wet the ENTIRE car down until you have finished washing ! Then hurry to a shady spot to wipe down with A B S O R B OR only ! These things are awesome ! Just keep it wet till your done and that will solve your problems ! Otherwise, remember BLACK IS A PAIN IN THE ASS !

In summary,

1) wash the car in the shade or nearly shaded - direct sun will heat it up too much while you are washing.

2) Make sure the entire car stays wet while washing. When you rinse a panel, rinse the whole car

3) on final rinse, take off the nozzle and let the water "sheet" over the car. Water will not bead up and there will be less water to dry.

4) Dry the car with a very clean, very absorbent material. Some use big cotton towels, some use synthetic materials like the ABSORBER ($9 at an auto store), WATER BANDIT, or big Miracle Towels. I've had an absorber for 8 years and it still works great. I sheet the water, absorber and then Miracle Towel to get the remainder. Or you can use your leaf blower - don't laugh, it works pretty good.

5) Bling!

I use this to dry my car. Nothing touches the car. I make sure to sweep up around the car prior to washing so not crap gets flung around.

Thats definately a good idea. Like you said just make sure you give the ground a good sweep. If you do go to a carwash they usually dry the car the same way prior to it leaving the bay. The "leaf blower" is just a tad bit bigger.

AwEsOmE guys! Thanks a lot! I really like the leaf blower idea! At the car wash, the car runs by a huge blower like thing, and i think my leaf blower will actually do the job!

i thought i was the only one to use a leaf blower! it works great and takes about half the time of the absorber. i still use the absorber to pick up the little stuff that the blower leaves behind. no water spots on my car at all after the blower

Be real careful with the Cali water blade. You HAVE TO MAKE SURE IT IS TOTALLY CLEAN.

Also, be careful with the leaf blower - the neighbors will think you've lost it...

Yeaa leaf blower my dad owns a landscape company so I got a couple big leaf blower . No telling what MY neighbors think I stand on a chair to get the top. Most people just laugh. It really only works when waxed good and smooth.
With my black cl I have tried everything
I have faced the facts - its a tuff color
zaino scratch remover works great - leaves surface clear as glass
until next time you use a towel

What I find works the best Get some one to help you dry it off with plenty of towels

Ive bought all the bull shit. Look at a proffesional car wash or detail shop they use "cannon" cotton towels

Be careful with gas powered blowers. I've heard they sometimes spew small amounts of gas and oil out the blower hose.
