Drove a CLK55 today....

Two words......

Holy SHIT!!!!!

One of the most incredible cars I have ever driven. Originally went to the dealership today to look at the new E-Class. Next thing I know the salesman shows me a leftover 2002 CLK55 with 100 miles on it. Then he asks me for a drive. How could I say no?

So this thing is fast, ridiculously fast. The only other car I have ever been in that was this fast was my friends Lotus V8. You just tap the gas and it goes. The dealer encouraged me to hit the gas and wow, this thing just throws you back in your seat.

Handles like it was on rails. I was on some backroads near RT1 and it was just solid. Never did I feel like the car was gonna break away and I was going at a pretty brisk (but reasonable) pace.

The interior was beautiful, fit and finish was perfect (what else would I expect).

Everything I want in a car. But a bit out of my price range at $70K.

I need a new job....

yeah the car is amazing. this one guy i know got has a clk55 amg. but he got it supercharged through mercedes and the thing is pushing 560 whp. its so amazingly fast and when he turns the traction control off he can do the craziest burnouts. when he did a burnout for us all the air was filled with smoke. this car is great.

i saw the new clk55 today

benz is dumb for putting the blower in the other 55's but they didnt put it in the clk

the clk is the lightest 55 so if it was blown it def can see low 12s or maybe 11's

I was a big fan of the previous CLK model. In fact, i almost bought a 2002 clk430.

But they REALLY fuked up on the shape for the new ones. I honestly think they look low-rent and even civic-like at some angles. With the current look i wouldnt buy one, regardless of its performance.

And what the hell are they thinking putting nearly identical headlights in C, E and S classes?? They look WAY too much alike for cars which have $30-50k price difference. :thumbsdn: :thumbsdn:

Yeah, I like the old look better than the new. The dealer called me today. He said since it's a leftover, they would sell it for $58K, about 10G's or so off sticker.

Still to rich for my blood right now....

Anyone got an extra $58-60K than I can borrow? I'll pay you back
I promise!!!

old clk actually had CLASS. the new ones look smaller, the rear end is where most of the fault is. but still, it is updated with the new interior and more refined so it is still a step ahead
