drove the 2001 Maxima, and LIKED IT!!!

ALL i know is that I went home this past weekend to my parnets in Long Island, and sittin on the driveway was a steel gray 2001 maxima sittin on some damm nice 17s, which replaced my old 98 green maxima that i gave up for my acura cl-s.

well i got into the car expecting nothing spectacular, and other then the ugly ass shifter, not like our SS mode shifter, but other than the little differences from my old maxima, the new one was still the same car to me, till i turned on the engine and took off. WOOOOOW, this car has some balls, i took it to jersey from Long Island and it was a big bad motha on the road, and if it wasnt for the bad cops in jersey , i would ave been doin like over 120 the whole way.
NOw i have to say that as much as I liked the car, i still was as unimpressed with it as i was when i turned it down and got the CL-s, but when the new 2002 maxima and infiniti come out, with its 255 hp or 260, whatever, i may be tossin back over to nissan, but its upscale division in infiniti, cause, its so nice and smooth and i think it may blow the doors off the TL-S, but, I still hope that Acura pumps up the TL-S before I need to get my new car.

Let me know if anyone else feels the same, that the maxima may be a better car then the TL-s, not that i do, but i just hope that acura does something to combat the 260hp I35.

well, the current i30 has 227hp compareed to the 225hp tl, but is still about a second slower.

the new i35 is still gonna be the same 4spd auto, just stronger to take the torque.

do not be misled, the 2000 max was no quicker than my 99, yet it had 32 more hp, it must have gotten lost somewhere, just like the new q 45.
let it get tested first and then we will "see".

well, like i said, i hope the tl-s is faster, casue i really love the acura cars and when u put the stock kit on the tl-s is a bad ass lookin car. I am almost lookijn foward to car shoppin again, even though i still have 2 years left on my cl-s. I loved my maximas and that was the opnly reason why i knew i would like the new one, but like i said, its weird cause its 35 hp more then my old 98, and it was almost the same in speed, just alittle smother. i just want the nicest fastest car in its class, and if the i35 will have the options like the tl-s, includin the SS mode, i may get it, but, if not, then ill be drivin in style in a 2003 tl-s and lovin every bit of it. Either that or a benz c32amg or gs340, whatever i can afford. heheheh
