Sound like your well on your way to your initiation into the tranny club. The whole situation sucks, but your case should at least have some positives:

1. The tranny crapped out on you slowly so you were able to deal with it before it became a safety issue. People have talked about almost launching through the windshield when their transmission dropped into second on the freeway.

2. You have enough time to have Acura schedule you a loaner car. If you suprise them with a warrenty issue (like i did), they usually give you a $30 a day voucher for a shitty rental car (like me). If you call call ahead and gripe, they will usually hook you up with a nice loaner.

3. Guessing your mileage is midway through the warranty period so you should have plenty to drive the new tranny decide if the car is worth this BS

As we know, the same shit happened to me last week and im still driving my gas-hog of a loaner. Im not sure where this ordeal will take me when i get my car back. I love my CLS, but i am just too damn busy to have an unreliable car. I had clients up my ass all day last Tuesday because i was 1 hour late for work when my transmission took a dump on the freeway onramp....what to do...

Yup! I use my car extensively for work and cannot afford to not have a car I can rely on.

I drive 20-25K a year so I will want to unload my car when I get to 80K. Another year +. Am actually beginning to think Camry. My g/f has a 6 banger Camry and it is so smoother and has the Toyota reliability. We shall see.

Sucks the big one.

I get a clunking noise in my car at times...haven't even narrowed it down to when or why, but it seems like it started after they replaced my pads and cut the rotors.

I have to get mine in as I have 48k miles on my car now...

Hey welcome aboard ... mine too went out at 48,000 so I didn't have much of a hassle getting a replacement.
