Driving in the rain

Got some rain here in SoCal. Damm, the car feels great in the rain. Sticks to the road like a champ.

Do not push it on the stock tires... you will regret it...

With Z rated UHP summer tires, it feels better, but even then I do not take to much risk.

I never had any problems with the stock tires--in rain or snow.

Stock Michelin sqeuaks like a pig... Hydroplane like a hoovercraft.

I hated stokies... If you never had stciky tires you will never know the difference.

I'm not pushing it to the limit. I am planning on riding the stock's till they need to be changed.

I drove once in heavy rain on the highway on the stock tires...

Would I do it again? Nope...

These tires are awesome in the rain. My Maximas 2001 that came with Potenzas were POS. They made me loose the back end a few times going straight on a freeway, hit a puddle the back end broke loose and came around a little, and I regained control. But still, when it rained that car hydroplained on the most non-exisitant puddles. These tires are very good.

One thing to add, there is a difference between raining days ( roads are still clear) and pooring days (streets got flooded and you hit water puddles), then you would hydroplane on stockies tires...

The best thing about those stock Michelin's in the rain is they won't wear out since they don't contact the road surface.

When my stock tires had under 10,000 miles on them I'd drive fast in the rain never had a problem. These stocks are good for the wet and suck at everything else.

Did someone say Dunlop SPort 5000s, or was it Sport 9000s. Best wet, dry, snow, traction tires you can buy. That is all

Don't do this, they will last 20-30k. Take the hit and get the new tires now. You will enjoy it!

Have to disagree. I'm not impressed by these Michelins at all and I have no confidence in them in the rain.

The stock Goodyear RSAs on my 99 SHO were far better and the new Dunlop 5000s I just put on are better yet.

Perhaps the Michelins will wear out quickly - the quicker the better.
