Thumbs down Drivers side headlight hates me...

Has anyone else experienced this? Left headlight flickered off once, turned headlights off then back on, solved the problem. Now the headlight is no longer coming on and the 20 amp fuse keeps getting blown! I've self diagnosed this as the inverter, is that a correct assumption? I've done a search and haven't seen any results that are my situation verbatim. I haven't received my helm manual yet and don't really want to start tearing things apart until I know damn sure how to put them back together! Oh yeah, and did I mention my car only has 40K miles???

These are the exact symptoms of a bad ballast and you just need to replace it with a working one new or used.
Like brian6speed said it is a known problem with our cars and it just happens to be your turn.
I just replaced one of mine last month after going thru the same thing your describing.
