Driver Side AC vent.....help!

OK, so my driver side AC vent is looser than Paris Hilton, the one between the steering wheel and the door.

It seems that the slider-thingy that you use to adjust the direction of the air (left/right) is weighted towards the back. And there is not enough tension in the vent divider thingies where they attach to the stationary part of the console. So when I direct the air downward, it will stay for a second, but any movement in the car causes the weight of the slider-thingy to point the vent upward. It's a pain in the ass when I'm trying to warm my hand while it's on the steering wheel, and next thing I know I'm blow drying my hair.

Anyway, has anyone else had this problem?? what's the fix?

holy shit!! I thought I was the only one! I have the EXACT same problem. I put it facing in the middle to get towards my face...and the next day I come into my car, put on the air, and the damn vent is facing the fuckin roof? Do I just go to the dealer to have em fix it? Will I have to pay for that since I'm out of warranty?

Seconded. That's a weird thing to happen to so many people. I'm taking mine in next week for a whole hell of a lot of things, so I'll be adding that to the list.
As far as fixing it, I have no clue.

Well, when you ask them to fix it, ask them how they will go about it, then tell me Cuz my car is not under warranty anymore, and I'd like to do it myself if possible.

I used to replaced the whole instrument cover. Just 2 screws and a bunch of clips.
