IRA. Invest in it. cause your gonna need it.

I read about a young girl (18 or 21) that won the lottery in england or something and got millions. She spent most of it on expensive purses, makeup, drugs and 5 years later she's broke.

Well I think if you want to go all out, you picked the wrong car to be sentimental with, just getting up to par with the 03 type S 6 speed is going to cost you more than the car is worth, and it won't be worth it unless your 6 speed and type S, so if your dead set on having the sickest CL out there get an 03 Type S 6spd and

then
do a real dual exhaust
custom forged internals
custom turbo
custom axles
sticky ass tires
drop with all the suspension goodies
carbon fiber EVERYTHING
all the other bolt ons
a custom throttle body for the 09 SHAWD IM
custom mounts
(as someone else said) a complete workaround for the ECU
lots of bolt ons
rims
BBK
custom interior
racing seats
professional driving lessons
roll cage
3.6 build
and either a RWD or AWD conversion

and on top of that I'm probably missing a shit load of stuff

Really the smart thing to do would be to buy real estate, you have a butt load of cash and the market sucks. it is bound to recover eventually and at that point you will have even more money and can get the sickest nsx ever (now that would be worth it)

my two cents

Make your CL shoot fireballs.

No really if I came into contact with a massive amount of money, then I would probably put a modest amount of money towards a new car, or modding/maintaining the current car. The rest of my money would go to just simply not working but then again, I have a shit-tastic job, and I'm sure others on here have different situations, so...yeah.

Except for an SC & 6MT I have my dream CL:

https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-cl-2001-2003-50/got-my-01-cl-s-yesterday-493425/

If I had it to do over I would have held out for a 6MT.

How can you set the bar with something you havent done yet?

OP - If you really have come into a large amount of money, congrats. But dont waste it on the CL. If you want a fast car thats still comfortable go get an S4 or an M3. The CL isnt a sports car, and stuffing stupid amounts of horsepower will just make you spin the tires more.

I agree with the poster who said you should drop it and get it as tight as possible and keep it as a DD or something... I just bought an older SLK outright so I could give my son my CLS in the next 6 months...I paid the CLS off a few years back and bought another house on 88 acres in addition to the one we live in... real estate is still a solid investment if you know people...

... and if you have some "real" cash and want to build a fun car... build out a used S2k for the track, buy a sweet used truck and trailer it to the track... and buy some great driving lessons, so you dont go and kill yourself.... invest the rest... my grandmother lived off her interest until she died and left us in a good way... true wealth is not only what you have, but what you can leave behind.... I am now getting off my soap box... LOL

all u guys talking about awd and rwd, but at the same time u still have no imagination on the other combination that can be used, ur all still stuck on Honda motors.

if anybody does an awd or rwd conversion, atleast the motor should be able to handle some power.

i already know i'll be doing a rwd conversion pretty soon, with in a year or two and the motor will either be a 1j or 2j, with a 240 or mk3 rear end. the hardest part of that will the wiring.

What i would do as far as creating the CL of my "dreams" would probably be this:
Black paint, no pinstripe (if you have it) just a very very good smooth gloss black paint job. Black leather with black suede inserts (something like Dodge SRT model seats) 07 TL-S steering wheel and cluster (with all interior lights matching), upgraded NAV/DVD screen (aftermarket) in stock location, upgraded receiver for DVD screen in stock radio location, 1 10 inch sub and amp, some nice alpine replacement speakers, 03 CL-S silver interior trim (door panels, center console etc.) 5% tint all around, 03 CL-S head lights and tail lights, full eibach kit (sways, shocks, springs) comptech strutbar, some nice 17-18 inch 5 spoke rims....maybe 04 stock TL's or something like it with eagle F1 supercar tires, full Brembo BBK, full 3.7 swap, custom cams with aggressive VTEC (driveable on the low end), forged internals, lightweight valvetrain, lightweight pulleys (stock size), port/polished heads, OR instead of the cams have a custom supercharger kit WITH and intercooler mounted where the intake manifold goes, nice wire tuck, all accessories still there (a/c, ps, etc) and a beefed up auto, or a six speed swap. Id prefer the 6 speed, but i really wouldnt mind a beefed up auto that wont break that would pretty much sum up what i want my CL to be

buy a different car..

amazingly people on this site are telling you to look elsewhere for a car, when everyone HAS a CL.

obviously they are giving you good insight/advice so if i were you i'd sell ur CL, and move on.

at the end of the day... the DAY HAS JUST BEGUN

Everything
The lines
the kit
the stance
the offset
the exhaust
the diffuser
the lip

The lip is flawless and looks sick

wow that new benz is JIZWORTHY

it's baller and all, and hott. But I'd want a new M3 more than that... standard :-), and use the rest of the $ (the difference) on MODS... :-)

it's a benz a lot of the higher powered ones can't get the power to the ground properly, car is not race inspired at all, so it's not "fun" to drive, and.... they rust from what i've seen/heard

No doubt, I was just saying what my dream "CLS" would be. If had around $70k to drop on a car it would be either of these:

M3 - Lemans blue w/ Fox red extended interior

RS5 - Its not in the US but if it comes here I want it in Sprint blue with red leather.

Both with a 6 speed. But who the hell am I kidding, I don't have $70k to drop on a car. And if I did, I most likely wouldn't drop it all on one car.

Id probably pick up a used Elise, drop a K20 in it, carbon fiber wide body, supercharger and then use whatever is left to get a Triumph 675 Daytona.

Why would you want a Veyron anyway? The maintenance is rediculous.

A routine service is $21,000.
Four tires are $38,500
Every fourth tire change you have to have your wheels x-rayed for $46,000.

Buy an Enzo, its yearly maintenance costs are $2,730.

There are many other cars that are better then it for less.

A Hennessey tuned Viper is faster then a Veyron to 200mph.

And I forgot to add that the titanium retainers on the underbody of the Veyron are one-use only, and they need to come out when you do an oil change.

the CL is a well-structured sport luxury coupe (it'll never be a full luxury or sports car) so we're stuck in middle trying to be the best of both worlds, and in doing so there is always a sacrifice (ours being it's a BOAT, and doesn't have the power of a tru sports car).

1.) Buy an 03 CL-S 6-Speed
2.) Build a Turbo for it
3.) Do a RWD conversion
4.) Give it a TL lip kit

Now your done and undefetable
