Dream Acura CL
Well. I've got some interesting news. I may be due a windfall of cash in the near future. So I was thinking to myself, what to do? And i decided, I am going to take my 2001 cl premium auto, and I'm gonna load this thing up. So I'm gonna need sone help.
Here is what I wanna do, take my cl premium, change every component I can, engine, body, interior, everything imaginable, and still keep it street legal. But I don't really know where to start. Remember, cash is absolutly no objective, but a plan is. For the sake of time, let's say it's stock. So let me stress again. Anything legal, money is no problem, want to make this thing the ultimate Acura cl. Please post by either order of which to to first and or subject where the mod falls under.
Let the post begin!!!

How much do you plan on droping into you cl ?
Unlimited budget...
strip everything
be the first TT cl.
buy everything new
have a couple of months installing all your fresh stuff.
Then paint, interior and some glass work and your done. $100,000 later.
Or resonable,
full suspension upgrades and factory steering &suspension comps too
wheels and tires big brakes
engine work not just mods maintaince too
audio/video
interior
paint
shit, do a TT full tube chassis light weight awd street killer.

yea if you got that much $ bro i'd either sell the CL-P and buy a cl6 and put on some bolt-ons... or
if u actually want a fast car... buy a RWD or AWD car and turbo it.
I've always wanted an EVO MR or STI..
get one of those cars and u will not care about mods LOL
i
the CL is a well-structured sport luxury coupe (it'll never be a full luxury or sports car) so we're stuck in middle trying to be the best of both worlds, and in doing so there is always a sacrifice (ours being it's a BOAT, and doesn't have the power of a tru sports car).

Yea,I friend of mine had a 05 sti with a few mods and that thing had some serious pull off the line.
STI would be a cool car to mess with
you can buy modded one's for about 25-35 depending whats done.
And I think they can make big power #'s on their blocks too.

Haha. It's kinda funny. A tread started on the concept of cool things to do to my car turned into discussion on tge corruption of money. Lol. Anyways. The moneys not small and not going away. I just want a list of some mods for me to start with then I'll progress from there.

Gonna guess this is the typical 18-20 year old thread where they think they're gonna build some Enzo killer while most likely living at home with their parents and holding a part-time job. Anyone serious about this kinda stuff doesn't go online and ask people what they should do, they research and they do it.

Lol, I wouldn't even bother modding the car. I know you say it has sentimental value but it won't match up to the "sports car" that you should most likely be buying with a windfall of money.
Id give the CL a new unique paintjob and mod the interior because no matter the amount of money, it's not going to match the new sports car you want to. Let each car have their own identities and the CL isn't a pure sports car, yes it can hold its own but that isn't what its meant to be.
P.S, Im buying a Veyron and putting 4 more turbos on it to make it an octo-turbo. Here is the pic

Seriously dude, depending on your age, unless you won the lottery or had a very very rich family member, you might not realize what a lot of money is.
If you're 18, you realize 5 million isn't that much if you never want to work again. Please consult a financial advisor in regard to your future.

Hmm. I see your point. But idk. Lol. And btw. I am living with my parents. I'm 17. Haha. But I'll never have to flip burgers. Haha. I see your point about making it Somethinh it is not. I'll have to think on that. But I fuugure it can't hurt to do some performance parts in the mean time. Also. I live in Chamblee. This is kind of a thing me and my dad wanted to do, we planned it.

Pits is right bro. Even if you don't seek an advisor (though that would be crazy!), mess around online with some time-value calculators and see what your money would do with a little time. Compound interest is a beautiful fuckin thing!
Consider that the best car out today is eventually going to pale in comparison to something that is state-of-the-art ten years from now. Also look at the number of celebrities who piss away copious amounts of money and end up bankrupt. It's not worth the bragging rights of having the "best street CL". Keep your car, treat yourself to something nicer than you previously would have thought reasonable and save your money for the future.
I know you didn't start this thread to get financial advice, but it sounds like you have an edge over 99% of the world... don't piss it away!

If you insist on spending a ton of money on your CL, pay someone to fabricate this body kit. That would have everyone here drooling!
Hey you may even be able to get it into production and make some money off of it! I'd buy one!

sell the cl-p ... buy CL-S engine/ 6speed tranny
find a good swap car civic or integra
build CL-S engine resleeve etc. make it solid stroke out to 3.6
buy 09TL intake swap and maybe try the mdx spacer
buy swap kit/wiring for the car you chose
buy tranny upgrades aftermarket clutch etc.
buy p2r fuel rail/ RC injectors
buy suspension mods for your car
strip car down put in racing seat
build custom turbo kit with exhaust
aftermarket cowl hood if necessary
buy standalone AEM ECU
buy really grippy tires
that's all you need for an awesome track car with the heart of a CL.

Not saying this applies to you, but in the electronic world that we live in, people who carry around that much cash are the ones who have the most problems because they have bad credit and no bank account and are forced to hide their cash under their bed.
You think Bill Gates walks around with 5k in cash in his wallet. Nope, I can bet he doesn't....

If it's your 1st car and sentimental (can you be sentimental for something that can only have been driven by you for 2 years now at most with a learner's permit?).
I'd put the money into keeping the car mint or restoring it to near mint condition and then just keep it in the garage to hand off to your first kid in like 15 or 20 years (idk?). It's really not good to get that attached to material things man...things in this life don't last forever.
Pass the car on and move onto something more current that makes you happy. Last thing you want is to end up with that CL with the mystique paint that looks pink in most light and lambo doors and 22 in chrome wheels just cause you HAD to spend money on it.
I personally have a lot more respect for a lightly modded older car that just looks sweet. OEM wheels...perfect drop...perfectly detailed and swirl free...all lights working and clean. That's my thing.

And Richard Parker,
I guess depending on where in life you are and whether or not you own a home or have money saved etc. That doesn't seem like a whole lot of money to me. Maybe pick up some Tein Basics or somethin.
It's funny, as I get older I actually rate how much a "lot" of money seems like to me. Like, when you're a teen, you'll fight for $5...when you're in college, 20 bucks is still a good deal. But with market fluctuations and real adult money when you get older you don't even blink when you have to drop a couple hundred to pay bills which makes you squirm less when you want something for yourself for a hundred bucks.

UGHHH, come on man, please realize that there are two things you need to learn in life. 1.) is maturity and that showing off doesn't win friends. 2.) Show a little modesty if you do have more money than someone else, people will like you much more for it.

WOOOAH...i just read this whole thing...this is a really dumb thread...
I donno how much were talking here, i saw 5million up there but im pretty sure you cant get 5million from a dead family member until your 18+ but whatever.
You like your car? Obvious.
You like power? Obvious...well you would of got a CL-S but you want power .
You like flash? Obvious.
Lets say you got $200,000...just saying, buy a CL63 AMG Benz. Its like our car, in many ways, fast , classy, flashy.
Dont be dumb man...build the car you want if thats what you want, but when some other guy flows the doors off you and you kick yourself in the ass, dont come crying to us.
Money doesnt make you a better person. Money may also take your life if your not used to power dude.

Thats about what my living expenses are for a month.
But it's not.
