DOT 5 is not compatible with your car's braking system and can cause extensive damage

Just a little reminder from the informative owner's manual of my 2001 CL-S (p.229):

"Brake fluid marked DOT 5 is not compatible with your car's braking system and can cause extensive damage."

It also says you can use DOT 4 "as a temporary replacement."

This really should be the last word about DOT 5 brake fluid.

Don't put water in your gas tank either. It's not compatible.

DOT 5 brake fluid is silicone based, whereas DOT 3, 4, & 5.1 are glycol based.
You could actually use DOT 5 if you rebuilt the whole brake system, but it's probably not worth the effort.

edit -- here's a nice concise brake fluid FAQ from a Triumph site http://www.vtr.org/maintain/brake-fluids.html

Just a little reminder from the informative owner's manual of my 2002 CL-S (p.77):

Each door has a master door lock switch. Either switch locks and unlocks both doors. Push the switch down to lock both doors and up to unlock them.

It also says that each door has a lock tab at the top of the door. When you push down the lock tab on the driver's door, both doors lock.

This really should be the final word on how to lock the doors.

Did you know you can also lock your doors with the remote?

By the way, when driving forward, turning the steering wheel to the left will make the car go left. Proceed with caution.
