Assuming my actuator is working?!? Why is there no increase in power at ~4000RPM. I don't feel anything when it kicks in. I think Jens said there isn't anything on the Dyno at that point either. If I can't feel it and it doesn't show up on the dyno, what is it really doing? How do I KNOW it is working properly?

I may not be smart, but I've raced my whole life, so I know how to listen to an engine. I don't hear any change in tone, or increase in air flow. But my little thingy on the back of the engine turns...

You won't really feel or hear anything. But if it wasn't working you would probably notice it as the torque drops off, which you feel, and stays down.
In the dyno plot myself and others have of a non-functioning IMRC you can see the torque drop off about 20 lb/ft starting at about 3600 revs and stays low until redline. Whereas a functioning system will have the same small dip starting at about the same 2600 revs but when the IMRC system opens at 3800 revs the torque climbs back up to the level where it was before.
So there is no real increase in power but there would be a loss if it didn’t work.

Thanks, that helps me understand a little better.
I'm far enough south that when you get gas they put one of those cute little umbrellas in your tank.
