Well...... get ready for many more problems than Acura. I had a 2001 A6 and it had problem after problem. Radio not working, door locks quit working. Driver side window got stuck down, etc.
The maintenance is free but what a pain to be going back and forth all the time.

no problems with the A4...i've been on the A4 forums for a few months now...
the 2002 models had a Coil back problem..which is fixed with 2003.
no electrical problems either....which audi and bmw usually have a lot of..
i cant wait till i get mine.....
if your going to spend $ on mods....you will LOVE the a4...let me post some pics for u in a couple minutes
BUT, the A6 has lots of problems....there is no denying it...
i am sure u will have a LOT less problems with the audi than the acura...
im only going by what i see on the a4 forums....the only problem is the coil back...again fixed for 03

You are talking about brand new cars Amir. Of course they will have no problems. Give the 2002s another year or two and then see how much you spend on maintainance. If you're leasing, it doesn't really matter of course. But, in the long run the Audi will have much more to worry about than the Acura.

Revving at 9K...
I agree with gto, a lady at my work has a 3.0 2002 A4, bought it brand new, she's had one problem after another.. here is just a quick list of what she told me about this morning..
1. Cruise Control was not working right after she bought it..
2. When other Audis in the parking lot arms their alarms, it triggers her's to go off.
3. Her windshield wiper speed is stuck on high.
4. Memory seats stop working after 2 month.
5. Right now, her car is in the shop getting the tempture sensor fixed, and they called her and told her that they've discover a problem with her front breaks..
She said she's done with Audi, so I guess sometime people just have bad luck and buys a lemon car, it dosen't matter what brand it is.
IMO..

I guess every car maker has it's minor quality problems.
My parents' friend has a very new A4 3.0 Quattro. It's been in the shop a couple of times for odd electrical gremlins that won't stay fixed. (Map/dome light bulbs replaced several times, memory seats with short term memory, random popping/hiss sounds from the Bose sound system.)

$30-40K German cars were never good as far as reliability goes... If you look in Jdpowers long term reliability study for 5 year old cars.. Audi was not too good...
Those cheap german cars give you good perfomance, I agree.... but quality is bellow Toyota/Honda/Nissan.... Audi was never built for long durability....

We have a 2000 A4 1.8T Quattro coming up on lease term. We've had it a little over 3 years, and it's been nearly the perfect car. Other than scheduled maintenance, it's been in the shop for one minor problem that was fixed in an hour.
Just like with any car, you'll find people who've had problems and people who haven't. The audiworld boards are a great place to start.

Friend's A4 got in a serious smashup and got a brand new A6 as a loaner. The A6 crapped out! Something electrical went haywire and made the car impossible to start. Salesman allegedly told him it happens fairly frequently on their new A6s. Are they good or bad cars? Who knows.

My point was that with any car, they're not all going to be perfect - some people will have problems and some won't.
Look at all of the people having problems with auto transmissions in CL's. Acura has a great reputation for reliability, but transmission issues aren't exactly minor problems. Some people are on their third transmission in a relatively short period of time. I wouldn't exactly call that a selling point for buying a CL. I'm getting a six-speed, so I'm not worried.
Our A4's been great. We'll see if the CL which is replacing it is as reliable. I expect it will be, but expecting perfection isn't terribly reasonable, either.

The quest for that perfect car without rattles or mechanical/electrical problems continues...
Why can't humans build a mass produced car with 10s of thousands of parts that have no problems, ever? Seems easy enough
