Does your auto CLs do this when shifting??

I have had my 2001 Cls Auto for 4 months now and really like the car aside from the WOT downshift. At lower speeds a mash of the pedal produces a perceptable lag and then a downshift. It is almost like the tranny is in "turbo mode" with the hesitation. Even when it finally shifts it feels like it is in too low a gear. Kind of like if you were at 50 mph and shifting in to 1st gear.

Do all auto CLs's do this??

I am going to take it to the stealership at Rick Case Acura in Ft. Lauderdale but those bozo's have yet to do anything right for me.

Any observations??

I've noticed it from time to time. Definately not consistent.

I'd drive the extra distance & go to Palm Beach Acura. I find they are the better dealer in the south FL area.

For your tranny, has it ever been replaced? I heard that lag is common after the dealer"fixes" the tranny. When I had an auto I did notice a lag, but as stated it was not consistent.

Mine does the same or similar when left in D5. That's why I drive around in the city in D4 and save D5 for the Interstate or anywhere else I'll be cruzin above 50 for awhile. It's much more responsive, and easier on the 3rd gear pack I suspect.
