Does the floor shift light up?

New CL owner needs to know ...

Does the floor shifter illuminate at night? If it "should" and mine does not - where to go to troubleshoot that bulb? Tips on disassembly?

Thanks in advance . . .

Are you talking about the gate?
The 6-Speed doesn't, but I think the Auto does.

Yes sir - the floor "gate" which of course on a 2001 is an automatic. Looking down should the letters be illuminated - or is the expectation that the driver would watch the dash display to "know" which gear is being selected during hours of darkness?

I really don't know (didn't even notice on my first few night drives) but the wife.com came in immediately complaining !

Yep, it lights up. Check your fuses first.

Fuses are all good. Lights work in dash and the rear counsel. So- looks like I have to locate that bulb. Any suggestion or guidance out there? How the shift knob come off?
